Now that Kurt and Mercedes are both on the cheerleading team, Ms Sylvester expects them to lose weight by any means necessary including her special formula. Ms Sylvester has also booked the auditorium for the entire week preparing for her magazine break and forcing the Glee club to find a new home. Will has no say in the matter because she is also blackmailing Figgins.

Meanwhile Kurt continues to hit it on Vin and imply that their lives will somehow intertwine. Vin's mother meanwhile is selling off old belongings that remind her of her husband. Vin stops her from selling his father’s favorite chair only to find out that his mother is seeing someone.

Will while looking for a new home for the big club runs into April at a skating rink where April lures him into singing a duet with her. They sit down to chat. Will finds out that April is now a mistress of a rich old man and is in charge of the place. She offers the skating rink as a practice space for the Glee club in exchange for letting her stay at Will's place. It's also obvious she still has the hots for Will.

Vin finds Kurt to talk about their parent’s relationship. The Glee club feels helpless when faced with the news of having to find a new practice space but then Kurt comes in to save the day through song by showing them a feeling of home within them. Everybody, even Vin joins in.

April arrives at Will' s place and makes little effort to hide her intentions of sleeping with him. She tries to entice him with a duet but in the end is unsuccessful as Will is still going through his divorce. Meanwhile Kurt and Vin and their parents have dinner together where while at first Vin seems distant, irritated by the thought of their relationship he soon opens up when Kurt' s father opens him up with some guy talk.

Mercedes takes her dieting so far that she hallucinates that other students look like food at which point she faints. In the nurse's room Quinn offers her a granola bar and confesses her feelings of how she used to feel ugly and fat and felt jealous of Mercedes for being comfortable in her body. Will and April also share their feelings with each other which inspires April to leave her sugar daddy and find her own place where she feels at home.

Kurt and Vin concluded that the relationship of their parents cannot continue. Vin realizes that Kurt had been hurt by how well he and Kurt's father bonded. However they both agree that the relationship of their parents is something neither of them wants. Vin tries to provoke his mother by threatening to flush the ashes of his father down the toilet at which point his mother opens up and tells him that she has been lonely for years and felt crazy that she talked to his ashes in bed every night. She feels like she is finally happy again having found someone who makes her feel like her husband used to make her feel.

The performance of the cheerleading team is up and Ms Sylvester is anxious to impress the reporter with her. The entire performance is turned upon its head when Mercedes makes the confession of how she feels about herself and her body and asked the audience if they feel the same way. Many people do. She sings Beautiful by Christina Aguilera. Much to Ms Sylvester's surprise the reporter is thoroughly impressed and confesses that he was planning to expose her for the shallow behavior she encourages amongst her cheerleaders.

Vin and Kurt's father end up bonding really well when he shows Vin that he understands how he feels and this moves him so much, that they end up watching the game together with Kurt's father in Vin's father's chair. Kurt looking on is deeply hurt by this. Will and April also seem to tie up loose ends as April breaks the good news of the death of her sugar daddy and her inheritance of 2 million dollars. She helps out the Glee club by bribing Figgins to let them use the auditorium.
