Theatricality - Recap

Will and Tina have been summoned to the Principal's office due to dress code violations on Tina's part. She is dressed in dark, gothic clothing and the principal tells them that a few Twilight fans have attacked someone to get Robert Pattinson's attention. Both Will and Tina are thinking that the principal actually believes that vampires are real. The principal tells them that she needs to dress down a bit and that strict dress code fosters good behavior. He threatens to suspend Tina if he sees her in another dark outfit. Finn learns that his mother has been invite to move in with Kurt's father. Finn doesn't seem to be comfortable with that as he doesn't want to leave his home. He is also not cool with having to share a room with Kurt.

The Glee club isn't adjusting well to Tina's new look and runs through many different types of looks she could go for but she isn't feeling it. Rachel comes in and tells them that she has a major issue. She has been doing background research on Vocal Adrenaline and she found eighteen boxes of Christmas lights. They are upset because they realize they are doing Lady Gaga. Will says that they can help Tina find a new look and get a new way to win. Will gives them the assignment to do Lady Gaga. Rachel's birth mother sings Funny Girl and Rachel begins to realize it is her while they are spying. She gets up and introduces herself to her as her daughter. Rachel asks her if she ever regretted it. Her mother says she did and didn't. Rachel asks when she thought that it was time to meet her and she says she saw her sing at sectionals and thought she was her exactly. Her mother realizes that it was wrong to try and get into touch with her and leaves.

Finn shows up at Will's office. Finn tells him that he doesn't want to do Lady Gaga. He feels like they are always doing what the girls want them to do. Kurt and Tina get pushed into lockers. Kurt defends Tina. The football players threaten them. They are wondering where Rachel and she shows up late. They decide to do Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance'. They show their routine. Finn is in the bathroom and he is putting make up on. He gets attacked by the jocks and they tell him to get out of the bathroom as the girl's is across the hall. Rachel shows up at her mother's and needs help. Her mother makes the new dress. The boys decided they were going to do Kiss' 'Shout it Out Loud'. Kurt and Tina get harassed again and Kurt asks Finn to help. Finn tells him that he doesn't understand why Kurt has to make such a big spectacle of himself. Kurt goes to help Finn with make up and Finn snaps on him by saying not to touch him.

Will goes to talk to Rachel's birth mother. He tells her that Rachel is special, strong willed, dramatic. He tells her that she is not hard like her. He feels like she is not ready to have a teenage daughter. She tells him that she can't have kids and wanted to meet up with her daughter. She worries that Rachel doesn't need her. Kurt shows him the decorated room. Finn snaps on him saying that he knows how he looks at him and he needs to accept that he is not like him. Kurt tells him he can redecorate. Finn goes off about how he would change the "faggy blankets" and the "faggy" everything else. Kurt's father comes down and asks Finn what he called Kurt. Kurt tells him that he didn't take it that way and his father says "Yeah, that's because you're sixteen years old and you still assume the best in people". He tells him off about it and he tells him that he thought he was different. He tells Finn that he can't stay there because his family comes first.

Finn tells Kurt he wants to talk about what happened the next morning and Kurt says that there isn't much to say, he thought he was different. Finn tells him that he is. Puck then comes in and says he wants to tell Quinn something. They sing the song "Beth" by Kiss. He tells Quinn that they should name their baby Beth before she gives her up and he would like to meet her before that. Rachel is working on something and her mother comes to her. Her mother tells her that she really wanted this to work. They talk and then decide that they are just going to be grateful for one another. Her mother asks her for a hug good bye and they hug. Her mother then gives her a cup and says when she is thirsty to drink from that cup. Rachel wants her to sing with her just one time. They end up singing Poker Face with one another.

Tina decided to scare the Principal by pretending to be a vampire and then gained her right to dress as she likes. The jocks are about to beat Kurt up and Finn comes in a red rubber dress. Finn says he won't let Kurt get beat up and the rest of Glee backed him up.
