Audition - Recap

In the beginning of the episode, Finn and Rachel are being interviewed. The interviewer goes to ask Will what he thinks about saying that all of the songs sound like they come from a drag queen's ipod. He says he tries to keep it all equal so that everyone can enjoy it and the interviewer still calls it gay. He then goes to talk to Puck about how he is handling the break up with his baby momma. He of course doesn't answer. He then goes to speak to Quinn about how it has been going since she's had her baby and she said that things are great and she's just ready to start fresh.

It is time for everyone to sign up for clubs and no one seems to be signing up for Glee. Sue tells him that he is wrong for not holding auditions. She says that not everyone can be champions. She thinks that he is doing a great job destroying Glee club all by himself. The principal tells them that their budgets are being cut. There is a new football coach because there was a nervous breakdown with the previous coach. They are trying to give the funds to the football team. Sue says that it is on to the new coach, basically.

Will meets with Glee Club. Glee doesn't care that no one likes them anymore, but they definitely need more members even though many of them don't want new members. He says that nationals are in New York and that they are going. He wants to show them how down they are by giving them the song of the year. They decide to do a performance outside of the song Empire State of Mind by Jay Z and Alicia Keys. This is so that they can draw more attention to the fact that they are going to need new members.

Will goes in to talk to Sue and they defaced the sign up sheet after their show. Sue says that they need to get together to stop the new football coach. Finn post up his recruit sign and then he heard someone singing in the shower. It is the new transfer football player and he is singing along to Every Rose Has a Thorn. Rachel is even posting up signs in the bathroom. She asks this quiet, asian girl to join Glee club. She is listening to a song and starts to singing to a song and then they start Telephone by Lady Gaga singing together. The asian girl decides that it seems like fun. The football coach is upset that they are trying to recruit glee members. She says that they are all cut and have to try out for the team again. Sue and Will have decided to send pizza's in the name of the coach. She decides to buy them anyway so the delivery guy doesn't have to pay for new pampers. She tells them that there is pizza in there if they want some.

Artie is trying to convince Finn to help him get on the football team, but Finn doesn't see any logic in it. He asks him why and he says that Tina dumped him for Mike Chinn while they were at Asian camp. She broke up with him because he ignored her the whole summer. He says he was in a serious game of Halo. Finn has brought the new team player to Glee club and introduces him to the boys. They all like him and asks if he can sing. Puck says that chicks dig singers. He sings Billionaire to audition for the guys. Artie gets to rap to Billionaire and everyone seems to dig the new kid.

Rachel tells a couple of the Glee kids that she met Sunshine. She wants to prevent her from joining all of the sudden and she decides that she is welcome and decides to go talk to her. She gives the address and directions for the audition. Sue goes to talk to Will at the teacher's lounge. Sue is very mean to the new coach. Will is also mean to the coach. She asks if he thinks it is easy being a female football coach and says she heard that he was really cool, but obviously they were wrong. The coach is in the locker room crying and Puck sees her. He asks if she's crying and she says that she saw the stats from last season. Finn asks if Artie can play and she kicks Finn off the team and she flips out on him because she thinks Finn was just trying to be mean. The new kid sees the whole thing and seems a bit worried about it.

The Cheerios are auditioning and Quinn wants to try out again. Sue says that she doesn't want Quinn. Quinn says that she bets that they'd get a lot of money from church organizations. After that, Finn tries out for them. They want to know why and Finn says that he was kicked off the football team. He hopes he will be considered. Will brings his coach and Finn and they are trying to get him to get Finn back on the team. He was kicked off the team because he was also a part of Glee and Will tries to convince her that she shouldn't judge him. She says "oh like you judged me?" and leaves. Sue is now talking to Santana about the fact that she heard that she got a boob job. Sue is apparently against them having plastic anything. She is mad and says that it is a big distraction and mistake. She doesn't think she should be the head cheerleader and Quinn is going to be the new head cheerleader. Quinn is officially back on the team and where she feels like she needs to be. Santana attacks Quinn and they start fighting. Will decides to step in and stop the fight. They are not happy with one another.

The kids of Glee are staring at the clock waiting for it to go to 5pm. It seems that no one is showing up for the auditions. It seems that Rachel has very much set her up. Also, Sue has gotten Brittany to accuse the coach of molestation. Will then gets her to admit that it was a lie and Sue is not pleased. Rachel has gotten caught due to the Asian community finding out that Sunshine has been sent to a crack house. Will tells her that she needs to make this right so she goes to talk to Sunshine. She tries to make it better. Sunshine finally gets to audition by singing the song "Listen" from the movie Dream Girls. She impresses the Glee kids with an amazingly deep, soulful voice. Finn and Rachel look worried. They accept her to the Glee club and everyone is excited about it.

Will asks to join the coach and sits down with her. He apologizes to her how he treated her. He thought that they'd be turning kids away. He feels like they're still outsiders and apologizes for making her feel that way. Sue has made her poop cookies and tries to give them to her but they don't accept it. Finn shows up to ask the new kid why he didn't show up at the audition, but he was worried that the coach would kick him off the team and he didn't want to be left out. It turns out that Sunshine is transferring so that she can be a part of Vocal Adrenaline. Sue called and told them about it. They're upset that they lost Sunshine. Rachel worries that Finn should break up with her and he says that she should break up with him because he's a loser. Neither of them want to. She says she did it because she loves Glee club but he wants the truth. He says that obviously she loves herself more, not really for Glee club. He thinks she should apologize and she walks away to take some time alone before she goes to say sorry. Artie walks in the background as his ex girlfriend has amazing times with her new boyfriend. Rachel shows up to the room.
