Silly Love Songs - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
Puck has a crush on Lauren, the grecco wrestler. He remembers her being
totally bored with him during the "three minutes of what should have
been heaven." Even the Valentine's candy he gave her sucked. Puck points
out that she ate them all, and Lauren says she had to be sure they all
sucked. As she walks away, he shakes his head and mournfully announces
that he's in love with her.

Girls are getting all giggly in Finn's direction. Even Becky. He and
Quinn keep locking eyes, and Sam notices. Finn thinks if they kiss
again, he could win Quinn back.

Blaine and Kurt are shopping for Valentine decorations. Kurt doesn't
like V Day, it's too commercialized. Blaine loves it, it's his favorite
holiday. He goes on to say that he likes some guy and he wants to know
if it's too much to sing to somebody on Valentine's Day. Kurt thinks
it'd be great. Blaine places their order, and Kurt comments that Blaine
knows his. Blaine says of course he does, coffee's on him, keep the
change. Kurt gets all bright-eyed and giggly.

The Glee Club is going to pick a partner and sing what they believe to
be the world's greatest love song. Partner up and let's get started.
Finn interjects to point out that an entire week has gone by without a
single member of Glee Club getting slushied. They applaud. He takes
credit, because he led the football team to their championship. So to
help Glee Club, he's setting up a kissing booth for $1 each. Mercedes
interrupts to tell him that she knows he just wants to kiss a bunch of
girls. Santana adds that she's kissed Finn - not worth a buck. She would
be willing to pay $100 to jiggle one of his man boobs, though. Finn asks
if she ever gets tired of tearing other people down, and the answer is no.

Santana says everybody loves her. She keeps it real, and she's
hilarious. Lauren says no, actually; she's just a bitch. Everybody takes
a shot, and it's truly awesome. Santana leaves. Brittany tries to calm
her down, but Santana is sobbing. Puck asks Lauren out, but apparently
just asking isn't good enough for her. He's got some work to do.

Kurt is drawing hearts with "Blaine & Kurt" inside when Blaine walks in.
He's called an emergency meeting of the Warblers. He tells them he's in
love, but he's not good at talking his feelings. He wants them to help
him serenade the individual in question. In song, off-campus. They
haven't performed in an informal setting since 1927. Blaine refers to
them as "privileged, porcelain birds" and a bit of mayhem erupts. Kurt
supports Blaine. When he was with New Directions, they were always in a
hostile environment. The group agrees, and asks where they'll be
performing. Blaine answers The Gap. The guy he thinks he loves, works there.

Kurt joins Mercedes and Rachel for a slumber party. He's devastated.
Rachel asks if he ever actually said they were dating, and Kurt said
"not in so many words." He realizes he made the whole thing up in his
head. Mercedes and Rachel empathize, but Rachel makes it all about her
and Finn. she's going to bring $100 bill to his kissing booth. He's not
going to be able to make change, and he'll have to kiss her 100 times.
When their lips meet, he's going to feel it. Mercedes gently points out
that they're supposed to be there for Kurt right now. Mercedes tells him
to go to the Gap, scope out the competition.

She's not seeing anybody for Valentine's Day, and she could care. The
three of them are all divas, look at their idols! They need to harness
their pain and run it through their talent.

Puck leads the guys in "Fat-Bottomed Girls". Santana looks uncomfortable
in her own skin. They do an awesome job. Puck asks Lauren what she
thought, and she tells him that was the first time anyone ever sang her
a love song. And it made her feel like crap.

Becky walks up to the kissing booth with a fistful of dollars. Finn
takes one and kisses her on the cheek. She's ecstatic. He tells the rest
of the line he needs an oral hygiene break, and they disperse. Quinn
approaches and says she knows why he's doing this. He thinks the peer
pressure will make her kiss him again. It won't work. What is she so
afraid of? Leading him on, hurting her boyfriend. The chemistry is
intense. Finn says "tell me you don't want to kiss me right now." Quinn
whispers "I can't do this" and walks away. Sam was watching.

He confronts Quinn in the library. What's going on. Why won't she kiss
Finn? Fine. Right after Glee rehearsal, she'll kiss Finn.

Rachel arrives at the front of the line. Finn asks if she's sure she can
handle this. Yup! She's good. She closes her eyes, and he kisses her on
the cheek. She gets angry, and he calls her on her lies. Fine, Rachel
admits it. She still loves him. Is that what he wanted to hear? He flips
the sign to closed, and they step aside. Rachel wants to know why he
can't just forgive her. She doesn't care about Puck. She doesn't care
about anybody but Finn. He reaches over to the booth and hands her a
gift. He bought it for her for Christmas, before they broke up. It's a
star necklace. He tells her she's a star, and she needs to shine. Just
because he can't be with her, doesn't mean he doesn't believe in her.
She nods acceptance and thanks him.

Mike and Artie congratulate themselves for getting the two raddest girls
in school. They perform PYT for Tina and Brittany. Glee Club joins in.

Santana shows Puck a receipt for the necklace he bought her at Jarrod's.
She tells him they can have dinner at Breadsticks and consider this
settled. He made his point. She takes a shot at Lauren, who happens to
be right behind her. The girls start sparring, and Puck notes this won't
end well. Lauren tells Santana she doesn't want to push her, but Santana
begs to differ. You see, she's from a part of town called "Lima Heights
Adjascent", it's on the wrong side of the tracks. Lauren gives her
glasses to Puck to hold, and proceeds to take Santana DOWN. Repeatedly.
Bieste stops the altercation, and that's when Santana comes up swinging.
Bieste takes her to the nurse's office. Puck begs Lauren to have dinner
with him, and she tells him she'll consider it if he makes a formal
presentation.

Quinn arrives for her kiss. Before it can start, Sam arrives - he wants
to see this. "Pervert." Sam prefers "chaperone", and also "boyfriend."
They kiss, and both see fireworks. However, she acts as though she
didn't. She walks away with Sam, but dashes back to get her purse. She
whispers to Finn to meet her tomorrow in the auditorium.

Blaine points Jeremiah out to Kurt. If they got married, The Gap would
give Blaine a 50% discount. He gets cold feet, and Kurt talks him back
into the game. He approaches Jeremiah, singing "When I Get You Alone" by
Robin Thicke. The Warblers join him. The customers start dancing.
Jeremiah keeps trying to dodge him. He finally winds up behind the
counter, with a complete poker face.

Outside, Blaine has second thoughts. It was too much. Jeremiah comes
out. He got fired. His boss didn't love it, and neither did he. Nobody
at work knows he's gay. Kurt interjects. "Can I be honest? Just with the
hair - I think they do." Jeremiah says they got coffee twice. They're
not dating. If they were, he'd get arrested, since Blaine is underage.
Kurt winces sympathetically.

Santana watches all the couples around her and can't believe she's
single, when she's the hottest piece of action at the school. She
notices the looks on Finn and Quinn and realize they're fooling around.
She's going to make sure everybody else realizes, too. She's a candy
striper, so kisses a boy with mono, and then kisses Finn. She hopes she
doesn't have anything contagious. Finn gets back in the kissing booth.

Puck asks Lauren out again. This time, he presents her with a pacifier
ring. He gets on one knee, and asks her out for the night before
Valentine's Day. It's a pre-date, because on the actual day their mouths
are going to be too busy macking out to eat anything. She giggles before
she can stop herself. She likes his style. It's a date. She advises him
to leave before she changes her mind.

Quinn arrives in the auditorium. Sorry she's late, she was at church.
Finn reaches for her, but Quinn walks away. He's trying to make her a
cheater. Something that hurt him so badly, it made him break up with
her, and Rachel. She thinks she loves Sam, but she doesn't know for
sure, and she's not going to break up with him until she knows that she
doesn't love him. Finn tells her she'll have to choose eventually. She
says "not yet", and they kiss.

Blaine is now grossed out by Valentine's Day. He's never made that big a
fool of himself. He can't believe he made the whole thing up in his
head. As long as they're on the subject, Kurt points out that they hang
out together, they sing flirty duets together, Blaine knows his coffee
order. Was he supposed to think that was nothing? Blaine is confused.
Kurt comes clean. Blaine declares himself clueless. He tells Kurt the
truth. He's never been in a relationship. He really cares about Kurt,
but he's not very good at romance. And he doesn't want to screw this up.
So they're going to be like "When Harry Met Sally", and Kurt gets to be
Meg Ryan. Blaine seems to remember that they got together in the end.
They get to the front of the line, and Kurt orders. Blaine notices Kurt
knows his coffee order, too. Kurt thinks he knows what they can do for
Valentine's Day.

Puck is kissing some waitress outside Breadsticks. He paid her to come
out there with him because he was so hurt when Lauren stood him up. Her
fellow waitress comes out to tell her her break is over, and her husband
called.

Finn is looking seriously under the weather, but he has good news. He
kissed every girl in the school, and raised $324 for Glee Club. Santana
notes that Quinn is also hanging by a thread. Will announces that Tina
will now perform "My Funny Valentine." She is so overcome with emotion
that she collapses, sobbing.

Finn asks to see the nurse, and Quinn says the same. Santana describes
their symptoms and announces that it sounds like they have mono. She
says tongue would spread it more easily, and Sam says no. He was there
when they kissed, it was nothing. Quinn wants to stop talking about it
and go get seen.

Quinn says she's cheated twice in her life. The first time she got
pregnant, the second time she got mono. She thinks the universe is
trying to tell her something. Finn says maybe. But he thinks Sam likes
her enough to believe whatever she says. Quinn says Santana is a bitch.
The nurse comes in and tells them it looks like mono to her. Their
mothers are coming to pick them up.

Quinn says no more. Nothing can happen between her and Finn until they
each figure out what's going on with Sam and Rachel. Finn says nothing
is going on with he and Rachel. Quinn disagrees, because whenever she
doesn't catch Finn staring at her, he's staring at Rachel.

Puck is cold with Lauren. She acts like she just forgot they had a date
the night before. He tells her a big part of why he finds her attractive
is that she's just as big a badass as he is. She doesn't want to just
fool around, so if he's serious about her, he's going to have to put in
some time. They seem to reach an understanding, and they'll be going out
on Valentine's as friends.

Rachel cares for Finn. She asks where Quinn is, and Finn says her mom
picked her up a couple of hours ago. She comments that Quinn is prettier
than she is. Finn tells her to stop, and that she's beautiful. Did Finn
kiss Quinn, like Santana said? He comes clean, but says he just needed
to get it out of his system. Rachel asks what it felt like. He said
fireworks. Did he see fireworks when he kissed Rachel? He half-smiles,
and she takes that as a no. She leaves, but he stops her. She thanks him
for giving her the strength to move on. She knows that there's nothing
for her with Finn anymore. He's too confused to be straight with her,
so Rachel just goes with what she does know. He inspired her song
selection for this week.

She sings "Firework".

Mike, Tina and Mercedes invite Rachel to join them for dinner.
Breadsticks has an annual lonely hearts dinner, and the Warblers perform
"Silly Love Songs". Santana is at a table alone. Puck leans in for a
kiss and Lauren grins and turns away. When they sing "I love you", Kurt
motions, and sings it to, Mercedes. Sam looks unhappy. Santana smiles
and waves at him.
