Extraordinary Merry Christmas - Recap

Mercedes is decorating a tree and sings "All I want for christmas is you". All of the kids are there, too. Rachel brings a list to Finn and expects to get 5 gifts from a list of 15.

Sue invites Blaine, Kurt, and Artie to volunteer the club to sing at the homeless shelter. She tells them that she's trying to keep herself busy after losing her sister. They say they will.

Rory sings Blue Christmas, because his family won't be there for the holidays. They say it was great, but depressing and they should make this Christmas way better than the last one. Will comes in to tell the kids that he got them a spot for a Christmas special on television and wants Artie to direct it. Artie says that he would have to think about it, since he promised he wouldn't sell out.

Rory looks sad and lonely and Sam comes up to talk to him. Sam invites Rory to go celebrate Christmas and that sounds great to him.

The man that's running the television special talks to Artie. He kind of is excited that he has a disabled kid directing it. Artie has 2 demands in order to do this: Star Wars must be part of it and it must be in black and white. He is told he can do whatever he wants as long as he does it for under $800. Artie says he can do it.

Rachel performs her Christmas song. Artie doesn't seem to enjoy the song. He gets very power driven. He wants to start with fun and end with fun. Sam doesn't like that it can't be both happy and sad and walks out, asking Rory to come with him and Rory says he should memorize his lines.

Rachel expects Finn to give her 5 gifts, including jewelry. She drops hints for earrings and that she wants a gift early. Finn gives her a card, he "Adopted a sow pig" that can go to poor families. She tells him that she only is asking for what is coming to her and that she wrote the list so he wouldn't embarrass himself.

Rachel and Blaine have a great duet. Sue comes to talk to them and they've double booked. The club picks the television opportunity and disappoints Sue.

The special is on:
First song is "Let It Snow" which is between Kurt and Blaine. Kurt and Blaine host the show. Rachel and Mercedes show up. They give presents and make cute jokes. They all sing These Are A Few of My Favorite Things. Kurt forgets to turn the oven on, so there is no Christmas dinner.

Finn and Puck show up dressed like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. They sing Santa is coming to town. The rest of the team comes in (besides Rory) to sing "Christmas By Myself This year". Rory is the Christmas Elf and he was supposed to read Frosty the Snowman, but he searched his heart and decides to read the story of the birth of Jesus.

Quinn and Sam serve food to the homeless. He tells her he's glad she's turned her life together, because she deserves the best. Will and the club shows up with more food. They also have a song to perform. They sing "Do They Know It's Christmas?". Everyone is happy. Finn gets Rachel a real present: He got her a star in her name and some beautiful earrings. She thinks it's time she started giving back.

Sam and Rory are jingling bells for donations and Finn and Rachel donate their money from the ipod and earrings to the cause.
