Recap

The episode begins with Mercedes singing “How will I know” in the hallway and is joined by Kurt, Santana and Rachael. Will watches them. They go to the library and then cut to the four standing on a stage and singing under the spotlight. The spotlight points at an empty spot; it is for Whitney. Later, Will tells Emma that he loves Whitney as well. But he thinks that after two months he’d let it go. Emma tells him how the death of Princess Diana affected her life. She says that the death of Diana represented the loss of her childhood. So, Will infers that Whitney is their Diana. Next, Will assigns the class their assignment- Whitney. He wants them to use her songs to get underneath her own feelings. He wants them to see how they are going to cope with the end of their senior year and how the transition is going to affect their lives. ..
