Show FAQ
I can't find that salt cellar anywhere! And I want one! Where can I get it?
Alton has found sources for a few of the popular kitchen items, including the salt cellars and the plunger measuring cups. You can buy them from his Alton Shop.

I'd like some of those knives Alton uses. Or the popcorn from Pop Art. Or...
Take a look at Alton's "Linkage" page. Links to some of Alton's favorite vendors may be found there

Is that really Alton's kitchen?
No. It's a set. For a few seasons, the show was shot in the kitchen of a private home, but this drew the ire of neighbors and the producers constructed a duplicate kitchen in a real production facility. Think, too, about the various shots from "inside" appliances - real appliances would not function with holes cut in them to permit these camera angles.

Who plays B.A.? Does Alton have a twin brother?
The "evil twin" is a classic (and now somewhat cliched) storytelling device, but Alton does not require a twin brother to manage the appearances of "B.A." He uses a talented production department for this.

Is W really an expert in every cooking appliance known to man?
No. She's a character played by Vickie Eng, who is also Alton's chiropractor.

This FAQ doesn't answer my question! It's lame!
Well, we can't all be FAQ geniuses. But this site comes very close. Be sure to poke around - there's a lot of information there. If it can't answer your question, I guess you'll have to find Alton at an appearance and ask him personally!

I know something you don't know! (About Good Eats, that is.)
That could be. If you think others would like to know it, too (and you do, or you wouldn't taunt like that), then join the site (if you haven't) and submit your information. I welcome new information, although obvious vandalism will get short shrift. Sites like this grow and prosper because people want to share what they know, so don't be shy!

Who are all those wacky characters?
Good Eats only rarely credits individuals who appear - a few of these cases are Shirley Corriher, a food scientist, and Deb Duchon, a nutritional anthropologist. The characters not portrayed by one of the actors (see recurring characters) are generally various members of the production crew.

You can't get DVDs of this show on Amazon! Where can you get them?
Sadly, Amazon does not carry DVDs of the Good Eats show. You can, however, purchase them here. Most of the episodes through season nine are on one or another of these discs. You can no longer purchase individual discs; the smallest unit now available is a set of three (nine total episodes for about $30). Coverage is spotty on more recent episodes, but Food TV periodically releases new sets, so check back from time to time and chances are, your recent favorite will be available sooner or later. Check this page for an excellent episode reference that includes the disc on which each episode appears. It is my goal to add this information to each episode's listing on this site, but this is presently far from complete.
