Goof Troop was a series created in 1992 as part of the Disney Afternoon block. It followed the adventures of the newly introduced Maximillion "Max" Goof, and his clumsy father, Goofy. Though Goofy was the star attraction, the series centered on the crazy antics of Max and Pete "P.J." Jr., the son of Pete, whom Goofy believes to be his friend, though Pete can't stand Goofy.

Goof Troop introduced Max Goof to Disney, who is a major character of Disney movies, and has premiered in movies such as Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas and A Goofy Movie.
