Cheryl is not accepted in 't Gooi at first and her background differs a lot from the other women in 't Gooi. Because of her spontaneousness and smart thinking, she manages to keep her head high and eventually the women see her as a true friend. Cheryl, supported by her new friends in 't Gooi, manages to launch her career.

Willemijn is a warm person and mother of three. She's the first one who welcomes Cheryl in 't Gooi and her kitchen is a meeting place for friend to clear their minds.
Willemijn together with Evert has a harmonious, but distant marriage without sex. Her attempts to bring back live in their marriage leads to uncomfortable situations. She eats away her frustrations about Evert.

Claire is a successful lawyer and like Willemijn and Anouk born and raised in 't Gooi. She's married to Anton, a financial advisor and together they have a 15 year old daughter, Merel.
Claire is a stylish perfectionist but with her hard and frequently pragmatical thinking, she is having difficulty dealing with her problems.

Anouk is a free minded and famous artist in 't Gooi. She's divorced from Tom, a handsome pilot, who in the eyes of many women is an ideal man. Anouk likes her independence, but does her best to raise her child, Vlinder, as good as she can. She has the ability to let any man fall in love with her.
Eventually she discover Tom is the man of her life and she is willing to let go of her rich sex life to settle down. When she asks Tom to marry her, he responds not the way she would have liked.

Roelien is not new to 't Gooi, however she's not posh as the others in 't Gooi. She's a dog trainer and after the death of one of the dogs of Evert, she is introduced to him by Cheryl. She's very uncertain, but when there's trouble, she reacts cleverly and helps where she can, although she's not yet accepted as one of the Gooische women.

Tom is the ex-husband of Anouk Verschuur (Susan Visser), together they have a child Vlinder (Lisa Bouwman). Tom's occupation is pilot and therefore he's often absent. Tom falls for the charms of Cheryl Morero (Linda de Mol), with whom he has a one-night-stand.
