Easy J - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
A blind Blair wearing a short wig looks like she's starring in a horror
movie. She hears a noise, and says she knows it's Chuck. A figure
dressed all in black, takes her down. She grabs for their head, and is
holding a hank of blond hair, which turns into a tiara. When Blair
awakens from her nightmare, she's clutching her blanket. Serena wakes up
in bed with the stranger who keeps stealing her taxi. She grabs her
shoes and clothes, and runs.

Blair notes that it appears Serena is in yesterday's clothes, her bed
hasn't been slept in, and she has sex hair. Serena says she and Colin
(the cab stealer) just talked all night. She says he's not as
one-dimensional as she had thought. Blair asks why she's home then, and
she answers that he collects women. He puts a different one in the cab
every morning, and she adamantly refuses to be one of them.

Blair is recounting her nightmare which was based on "Wait Until Dark".
Serena asks if they can discuss it on their way to school. She promised
the dean she'd clean up her tardiness act and be a model student. Blair
says she'll meet her at school, she has something she needs to do first.

Dan takes a call from Nate, who is off visiting his dad. Dan asks how
things are with Juliet. It was totally worth the wait. Nate thought it
was wonderful, but this morning she bolted, said she didn't want to skip
class. Dan said don't read too much into it, maybe what she said was
true. Nate ends the call and finds out Juliet lied about going to class.
When he arrives to see his dad, she's in the waiting line ahead of him.

Chuck and Serena are chatting on campus. A couple of blonds catch
Chuck's eye, and he goes to join them. A voice calls out to Serena to
hold the door for the Psychology of Business course, so she does; it's
Colin. He's the new professor. That makes Serena his student.

Blair arrives at the Humphreys and nobody answers her call. She opens a
door, and finds Jenny Humphrey. Little J tells her not to do anything
stupid, as her dad will be home shortly. Blair gives her a quick talk
about the actual meaning of banished as it applies to Jenny after she
slept with Chuck. They agree to a day pass. She's here for her
interview, and the guy might not even like her work. Jenny promises she
will not set foot in Manhattan, not even at Christmas, for the rest of
the year. That works for Blair. J has amnesty until midnight. However,
she's not done. There are terms. She is to see and speak to no one. She
is not to leave the apartment, except to go to her interview. Jenny
agrees, and Blair leaves, telling Jenny she looks forward to never
seeing her again.

Juliet and Nate are on a park bench. She thinks he followed her, but he
sets the record straight. Her dad just got transferred here from
upstate, where he was doing time for fraud and embezzlement. She asked
why he didn't tell her, and he says it's not a part of his A-Game pillow
talk. Nate asks if she's there to see her brother, and she says no;
she's a volunteer for the prison literacy program. So why didn't she
just tell Nate that this morning? She said same point, not great pillow
talk. He heads off to see his dad, and they'll catch up later. He
figures he'll swing by her class to see her but can you believe it? Just
then she gets a text saying her session has been canceled.

Blair confronts Chuck about Jenny's return. He says he had nothing to do
with it, knowing she'll leap to the proper conclusion. He calls to have
his car brought around while she tells her minions to make sure Jenny
doesn't dip one little tootsie out the door except to go to her interview.

Lily and Rufus are chatting up Jenny's work. Parsons will be lucky to
have her. Rufus wants to take the family out for dinner at Jenny's
favorite restaurant, but she'd just as soon stay in for Dad's chili. She
excuses herself to work on he dresses some more. Eric and Dan follow her
into her room to find out what's going on, so she fills them in on 100%
vintage crazy-ass Blair. Dan says it's ridiculous that Jenny should be
following her orders, but Jenny is fine with it. The only opinion she
intends to care about today belongs to Tim Gunn.

They hear a voice asking if anybody is home. Said voice belongs to Chuck
Bass. Dan goes out to deal with him. Chuck says he wants to speak to
Jenny, and Dan asks why, so he can apologize for taking advantage of
her, and letting Blair run her out of town? Chuck says something like
that, except without the sarcasm. He picks up the blueprints Lily left
for him, and asks Dan to extend his regards to Jenny. As he picks up the
blueprints, he takes her sketchbook as well.

Serena has her chat with Colin. He asks why she dashed out that morning,
and she tells him she didn't want to be one of his usual conquests. He
says she made that pretty clear last night, when she declined to be
conquered. She tries to give him the "I'm like any other student"
speech, but he says she needs to try again, with a little more
conviction. As she turns to leave, he asks her to be his date for some
Eligible Bachelor award. She figures him having a date would make him
ineligible, but he thinks having her on his arm should be enough of an
honor. He has a proposal. He'll commit to getting to know her and only
her, if she puts off mastering the psychology of business for another
semester. Serena reluctantly agrees.

Chuck calls to let Jenny know he 'accidentally' grabbed her sketchbook.
She's unamused, as her interview is in an hour. He tells her to swing by
and pick it up. She can't, as she's not supposed to go anywhere but her
interview, never mind see him. She won't have to - he's left the book
with his concierge, she can pick it up at the front desk before the
interview. When Jenny leaves, Blair's minions take pics with their cell
phones. Gossip Girl makes the announcement. The minions follow her in
the next cab, and report to Blair that she just walked into Chuck's
building, the Empire. Blair ends that call and makes a call to get the
address of Tim Gunn's studio.

When Jenny arrives, there is a receptionist waiting to greet her. Mr.
Gunn is on a very tight schedule. Dan was just in the neighborhood and
says he doesn't need to wish her luck, because she's amazing. He gives
her a hug and she heads in.

Juliet gets a call from the correctional facility. She fills Ben in on
why she didn't show that morning, and tells him he has the wrong
impression about Nate. He's one of the good guys, he understands things.
Ben says sure, he may understand your big brother is in prison, but he
probably won't when you tell him why. Ben apologizes. He's put a lot on
Juliet's shoulders, maybe too much. They end the call, and he asks a
fellow inmate which guy is Nate's dad. The guy aims him in the right
direction.

Serena is reading a book Colin authored, "Winner" when Lily walks in.
She's invited to dinner; Jenny is back in town. Serena guesses Jenny
forgot to call, but Lily hopes they can make peace and break bread
together. No can do, Serena has special plans. The kind of special plans
that involve raiding her mother's jewelry box. Lily sees what Serena is
reading and congratulates her for taking such a challenging course right
out of the gate. They go find sparklies together.

Mr. Gunn interviews Jenny. She fills him in on leaving to start her own
line, and then her new business partner setting all her dresses on fire.
The models come in wearing Jenny's creations, and each has a letter on
her front, in red. Together, they spell out the word "WHORE". Tim is
appalled, and ends the interview. The receptionist hastily escorts Jenny
from the building. Dan is waiting outside, and sees Blair. He tells her
she's too late, but she retorts that she's there for the after party.
Jenny comes out, visibly upset, and confronts Blair. Blair tells her she
broke the terms of their agreement, and gives her a ticket to get out of
town on the 5:00.

chuck calls Dan. He saw what happened on Gossip Girl, and he wants to
help. There's a fete for Tim that night, and the whole Humphrey family
is invited. Jenny can plead her case, and hopefully turn this around.
Chuck can't believe that J would be willing to let B win this round.
Jenny agrees; they're going in.

Serena and Colin arrive. She decides to enter separately so her mom
won't think she's putting men ahead of her future again.

The Humphreys arrive, and Dan and Jenny go off to find Mr. Gunn. Serena
finds Lily, and Colin finds Serena. He kisses her in front of Lily,
telling her he doesn't care what her mother thinks. Lily introduces
herself as said mother, who heard everything, loud and clear. He has the
good grace to be abashed.

The minions check in with Blair to let her know that not only did Jenny
NOT leave town, but she's at the Boom Boom Room, and they can't get in.
Blair is on her way to hopefully do more damage. Chuck walks past with
his blonds on each arm, and greets the minions before joining the party.

Jenny approaches Mr. Gunn and fills him in on what happened with her
dresses. He reluctantly agrees to another interview. Tim tells her that
Chuck called him.

Juliet is ready to be honest with Nate about her family, but he can't
stay. His dad got jumped by some inmates and he's in the infirmary. He
leaves. Ben texts her "Did you get my message".

Isaac Mizrahi greets Lily fondly. The minions finally crash the party
and confront Jenny. They ask what she did to get Blair so riled up. She
doesn't answer. They announce that Blair is here, and she's in trouble.
As they skip off in one direction, she gets on her cell going in the
other. Looks like Little J might have finally had enough.

Blair sees Chuck and realizes he's been behind all of this, the whole
time. Chuck says of course. Does she not remember him telling Blair that
he would destroy her, after what she did to him and Eva? Inviting J back
was just his way of avoiding having to do the dirty work all by himself.
He's pretty sure Jenny won't tell on him - oh, darn. He is so very
wrong. She put out a Gossip Girl blast, announcing that very thing.
Blair insists Chuck tell everybody she's lying. Jenny tells her to give
it up. Everybody now knows that Jenny did, and who to.

Dan checks in on Jenny, and comes down hard on her. He was proud of her
for moving on, but if this is what she's become after only a day back?
Maybe Blair's right. Maybe she should go back to Hudson.

Lily and Serena talk about her decision to drop the class so she could
date the professor. Lily assumes she will now be taking classes more her
speed. Does that mean she thinks Serena couldn't have handled that
class? Lily says we'll never know now, will we. She says a pretty girl
like Serena could get the attention of a man like Colin without the
education, so why even bother? Serena walks away without a word. Rufus
tells Lily she may have gone a little too far with the tough love, but
Lily says she bought Colin's book, and chapter 16 talks about reverse
psychology.

Nate visits his dad in the infirmary. He's still on the wagon, not
taking anything stronger than a Tylenol. Nate asks if his mom has
visited his dad, but no. She's keeping her distance.

Colin accepts his award, but said he'd gladly give it up for the right
woman. He sees Serena taking Lily aside for a talk, and adds on "if I
ever meet her".

Blair confronts Chuck as he's about to get into his limo. Blair says
they both lost and Jenny won. Chuck gestures past her that Jenny is
right there. Jenny says she may have won, but she's leaving. In order to
beat Blair, she'd have to become Blair, and she's better than that. She
asks what happened. The two of them were in love, and together they were
invincible. So until they figure things out, she's saying good-bye, good
riddance and good luck.

Serena was going to slide a note under the door but decides to go with
the personal approach. Colin has decided that he needs to put more
effort into his teaching endeavors, and less into models and martinis.
He is willing to wait the seven weeks of class to get to know her.
Before she leaves, he tells her she has no shot at being teacher's pet.

Dan puts Jenny in a taxi.

Chuck shows up at Blair's. He tells her Jenny was right, and they should
call a truce. They go over the events that led up to Chuck and Jenny
sleeping together. If none of that had happened ... but it did. Blair
can't let go. Chuck tells her she's holding onto the pain because it's
all she has left. But she doesn't have to. They have a choice. She holds
out her hand to shake, and he takes it, but she has an intense reaction
and tells Chuck to see himself out.

Nate's home and asks Juliet to come over, but she refuses. She's in
tears. Nate assumes it's because his dad is a jailbird. She tells him
he's like nobody she's ever known, but Nate says Juliet is just like
everybody he's ever known. She hears a door close and ends the call.

Juliet is sitting on the edge of the couch, having a drink, when Colin
walks in. He assumes she's there to pick up her check, and not just raid
his liquor cabinet. He asks her how it's going, and she says he wasn't
kidding when he said it would be a challenge. Colin responds that all
good things are worth waiting for. Looks like Colin used Juliet to get
Serena away from Nate. XOXO, Gossip Girl.
