Nate is seen rolling about on his boss and paramour Diana Payne's desk, making impromptu love to her. Shortly after, as he buttons his shirt, he asks Diana to be his date for Diana's party tonight.
The party is for launching Diana's new business and anybody who is somebody will be there to see and be seen. Diana turns Nate down and tells him she has planned to take someone else along instead, but not to
despair; this date will be for business only. Nate is upset but Diana is not deterred. She hands Nate a lengthy list of guests to pass out Ipods to for the party. Later on, Nate talks to Penelope about how he would like to take her to the party just to make Diana jealous. Penelope agrees.
Chuck Bass visits Doctor Eliza Barnes to work out his past negative experiences as a child and when she insists he is hiding something from himself and her, he denies it. He claims that he
has told her everything, that he cannot remember anything more. She suggests using hypnotherapy on him to stir up latent memories, but he says no thanks. Chuck does not know that Louis, Blair's would be husband, is secretly paying Barnes to reveal private information about Chuck so he can tell Blair, thus keeping Chuck out of their lives. Chuck admits to Barnes that he still has the ring he wanted to give
Blair but never managed to do so.
Blair is having breakfast with Louis when she asks his permission to have one last day of total freedom for herself, to do just as she pleases. He agrees and she sets off on a day long schedule
to have her minions and Charlie competing against each other to be her royal bridesmaids at the upcoming wedding. They seem willing to be put through their paces, just as if it were a boot camp
of sorts. She tells them that the final competition is going to be that the first girl to get a kiss from Nate will win them the much wanted position of bridesmaid. They plan and scheme to accomplish just that. Meanwhile, they are vying for her approval.
Dr Barnes visits Chuck at his home, saying that she thinks he may feel more open and willing to talk about his issues on his own turf, as it were. He agrees and sits down with her
for another session, but ends up saying that he cannot come up with any more issues. She opens a can of worms by hinting that there are unresolved issues with Blair. He admits that
he still loves Blair but he knows that it will not change things now, that Blair is going to be married to Louis soon. He says he has moved on. Barnes doesn't believe him and says so, then leaves.
Later on, on a nearby street, Chuck sees Barnes handing Louis some papers, taking money from him in return. Chuck realizes that Barnes is being paid by Louis for Chuck's own private information.
Dan talks with Serena and Jane about his book being made into a movie. Jane convinces him that he is better off to allow her to hire an A-list screen writer to produce the movie script after some wrangling. Jane tells Dan that this is best for all concerned since Dan is a novel writer, knows nothing about movies. What Dan does not agree to is the many changes Jane wishes to make to the future script to make
it more movie worthy. He says he is off the project and stomps out.
Serena calls Dan a bit later, tells him that Jane wants him to be Serena's date to the party that night to which he agrees.
At the party that evening, Serena spills the fact to Diana that she will not allow Jane to twist Dan's movie the way she wants to. Diana says that she and Jane have a history and will fix things, to not
to worry. Serena looks relieved. At about the same time elsewhere in the party, Jane is telling a stunned Dan that the movie deal is dead. Shortly afterward, Diana loudly announces that she is taking over Dan's movie project to the entire room.
A scheming and triumphant Penelope has managed to wangle a kiss from a willing Nate but all is revealed when Serena pipes up with why Penelope did it. Nate looks upset and displeased, tells
Penelope it was a low blow.
Right after Diana makes her announcement about Dan's movie, Chuck makes his own by saying that Barnes has used hypnotherapy to make him do unspeakable things. Barnes loudly denies it, takes him aside and tells him he needs to take care. He publicly denounces her for selling his information to Louis, and she denies that also. Later, privately, she admits doing so and will give up her practice.
Blair confronts Louis about obtaining Chuck's private information and says she believes that Louis is turning into what Chuck used to be. She also tells him that she and Chuck can never be, because Chuck
always destroys those he loves.
Initially, Serena turns down Diana's offer of a blogging position with her publication, but then accepts. Diana asks her to be in the office tomorrow morning to hammer out the details.
Blair goes home and is met by her trusty maid who says that there is someone there to see her, who wishes to apologize to her. Blair thinks it is Louis, but it turns out to be Chuck who says he is sorry
for all the negative things in the past that he has put her through. She listens while he clears the air, then tells him things are different now, that she is going to marry Louis soon.
Chuck says he has accepted that fact and has moved on, but outside her apartment building later on, he looks very sad and regretful, leaving the wedding ring he had meant to
give Blair on the doorstep, then leaves.
