All The Pretty Sources - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
Blair is having a wedding shower tonight and all the right people are invited, but apparently not Dan or Chuck, her former would be lovers, and they want to crash it!

We see Louis has an elegant gift for his fiancee, Blair, and hands it to her. She looks pleased and bemused, asks him what it might be. He says it is something special, just for her. She thanks him and discusses
the plans for the party. Louis brings up the sore subject of Blair's friends, how immature and conniving they are, and they argue a bit about that. Nothing ever seems to be resolved regarding her friends
and Louis is sick of their interfering. He resolves to do something about it, even if it is behind Blair's back.

Diana, at The Spectator's office, comes upon Nate and his grandfather, Wayne, talking in the hallway. Nate introduces the two, who already know each other because they are behind-the-scenes business partners, unbeknownst to Nate. Privately, Wayne berates Diana about her picture showing up in a local gossip rag, linking her with Nate. Wayne is not happy that people know about their connection. He tells Diana that if she doesn't make Nate shine, she is out of a job. He advises Diana to think of something, fast!

Max, Charlie's ex-boyfriend, comes to the Humphries household where preparations are being made for Blair's shower. He runs into Charlie, whom he knows as Ivy Dickens, but she just wants to hide away from him. Seeing no way out, Charlie "confesses" to Mrs. Humphries and Max that her mother was always used by people for her money and that Charlie took on the disguise of "Ivy" to prevent them from using her, too. Max seems to accept this explanation, later asks Charlie for a second chance at their relationship, to which she says no thank you. She offers him fifty thousand dollars to start that little restaurant he's always wanted in Portland, says she will join him within a couple of months, then they can be together. He accepts this too, when she gives him a diamond ring off her finger. He leaves, then later discovers the truth about her, that she is not who she says she is. He keeps this nugget of information to himself, but plans to use it as blackmail later.

Diana warns Nate that she could lose her job, so they will have to come up with something drastic to attract more readers away from Gossip Girl. They sit down to brainstorm.

Dan and Chuck are commiserating together about Blair over rich snacks and a bottle of Chianti. Dan bemoans the fact that he is bored, but the food is good, when two lovely girls in brief
dresses walk in, and join the men. Dan looks bedazzled, joins the fray with a smile.

Blair's bridesmaids tell her that Serena will be holding an intimate affair soon and she is not invited. Blair pouts, whines, then grills them for all the details, which they relish telling her about. She seems
truly upset.

At Blair's elegant wedding shower that evening, exquisite food is served, and all the best drinks. Blair's friends gush about the party, one even stepping up and giving her a public toast. The girls receive gift boxes, one of whom will receive a diamond ring. Oohs and aahs echo in the big room as they open their boxes.

Dan, dressed casually, crashes the party, flask in hand, very drunk. He confronts Blair, asking her why he was not invited. She blows him off, tells him to go sober up.

Serena, to her dismay, discovers that Diana placed a link to Serena's blog on the Gossip Girl website and there are thousands of hits. Serena phones Nate, asks him to take the link down.

Blair, unhappy that no one seems to be paying attention to her, (after all, it IS her party), finds out that Gossip Girl's sources have been revealed, that everyone present is reading all
about it on their phones. She is very upset with Serena now, but Serena tells her that it was NOT her fault. If not her, then who? It turns out to be Louis who revealed the dirt. Blair breaks it off with him
in an argument right in front of everyone.

Nate walks in on Diana and grandfather Wayne talking. He wants to know what is going on. Nate finds out that Diana released Gossip Girl's sources. Wayne asks her to resign, which she does. He also says that he will give her a large severance check, which pleases her. She begins to clear out her office.

Max confronts Charlie/Ivy about her deception, she bribes him with a diamond, asks him to consider it a down payment. Later, he decides that is not enough, phones her demanding more, since he will be
staying in New York a while longer to court Serena, whom he finds very attractive.

After the party, Chuck tells Dan that he believes Dan is in love with Blair, that is why he can't seem to get her out of his mind. He urges Dan to try to forget her, since that is going nowhere fast.
The two men leave.

Upstairs, Blair and Serena are discussing men, Serena as to how Chuck crashed the party and why, Blair commenting on how much she and Louis seem to fight, why she broke up with him.

Wayne promotes Nate to editor in chief of The Spectator, compliments him on his new position, urges him to make the publication a shining star. Nate looks amazed and bemused.

The show closes with Blair turning up at Chuck's apartment, says she has something to tell him. He raises his eyebrows at her, wondering what will happen next?
