At the KTT house, bright and early, a rooster crowed: not the real kind, but Walter Budrow/Beaver's phone. It was his mother calling to wake him for the day and give him his brief daily pep talk. He grimaced to himself as he chatted with his parent with closed eyes, only wanting to get back to sleep, promising mother that he was up and awake now. After he bid her goodbye, he patted his stuffed penguin and climbed out of bed, dressing and heading down to the kitchen for breakfast. He told his house brothers that he was heading over to ZBZ to help move some furniture for one of the girls. Upon arriving there, in the lobby, he stood clutching a small book case, gaping as the new pledges came down the stairs one by one as Tegan introduced them to the sisters. Katherine happened to come in and ask a question of Tegan and glimpsed the blond Katherine. Impressed by what he saw, he addressed Katherine as "pretty lady" and said that he wanted some of that after she left the house.
In literary class, Beaver's professor told him that he just knew Beaver had it in him to get a better grade and that he was giving the youth a chance to rewrite the paper on the book entitled "To kill a Mockingbird", that the professor knew that Beaver had used a stolen paper. Beaver blushed and confessed that he had used a paper given to him by one of the house brothers and that he would take this chance to correct his faux pas. He left the classroom and wandered the campus, asking several people including Casey if they would write his paper for him. Casey happened to need some law case summaries and in a short time. Beaver said that he might know someone who could get those for her and in return, would she write his lit paper for him? Maybe, she responded. Beaver said he knew a guy named Dave who wrote and sold college papers; now if only he could track this guy down. The website Term Paper Dave had did not give a number or address, but he might be close to campus. He was known to hang out at a certain apartment building; maybe they should give that a try. At the building, they could not find Dave's name on any of the mail boxes. They were overheard talking by one of the building's occupants who said Dave was known to hang out at the down town Rio night club, they might want to inquire there.
For Pledge Presents night, Rebecca asked Cappy to be her date because her very busy boyfriend had something else to do that evening. Cappy replied that he would be happy to be her escort. That night, Cappy was pretending to have a good time when Rebecca's boyfriend showed up. The two men got into an argument and blows were exchanged and the men left the house.
Rusty and Dana gave their self healing wire technology presentation to members of the school board in hopes that the board would give them some more grant/study money. Egos took over and Rusty and Dana were openly quarreling about who should get credit for the invention when they were asked to leave. The end result was that the board had decided the subject matter was too important to leave to amateur scientists such as Rusty and his girlfriend and took over, excluding the young people. Rusty was devastated by this news, but happy in another way that his invention would go on. At his apartment later that night, Ashley turned up as he and Dana were arguing yet again. Ashley showed herself out to the balcony to give the couple some privacy and watched as Rusty broke up with Dana and Dana left. Coming out to the balcony, Rusty told Ashley that they had broken up and he did not understand why Dana had felt she should have gotten the credit for his invention. He would miss Dana.
It was suggested that Beaver contact his past football team because they might know where Dave was. Casey asked Beaver how come he wasn't on the team any more to which he shamefacedly confessed that he had had no confidence in himself and had quit the team. Casey and Beaver showed up at the team locker room where a group of half clad young men were congregated, taking showers after practice. They greeted Beaver with open arms and didn't seem to mind Casey nearby. Yes, they might find Dave at the night club. Casey and Beaver made plans to visit the club that night. They ran into Katherine back on campus and told her what they had planned. She asked if she might come along. Of course she could, Beaver said, admiring her face and figure. She coolly brushed him off and walked away.
At the club that night, the three sat down at a table and Katherine stepped away to order drinks. While she was gone, Beaver admitted to Casey that he wanted to get in Katherine's pants. Casey snorted and told him to go find Dave. He went round back of the stage and asked for Dave. The stage master said that Dave was up on the stage next. Dave was actually Heath, Beaver's old buddy, who was working at the club as a stripper for extra money. The two men gaped at each other and then climbed up on the stage where Beaver told of his problem. As Heath stripped to the raunchy music and the women in the audience waved money at him and yelled, Beaver began to pull his clothes off too. Cheers greeted this effort and money rained on the stage. Heath gasped out to meet him after work and he would sell Beaver a paper. Clutching his prized paper, Beaver and the women left the club and went back to campus. Beaver discovered that the paper he had just paid for was exactly like the one he'd been given before. Katherine recognized it as a paper she had written a few years prior and said that Beaver would just have to watch the movie. A good idea, Beaver said. Casey sat down beside him on the couch and was chatting with him when Cappy walked in all upset. Would Cappy and Evan ever be friends again, Casey wanted to know? Beaver said that if she didn't know the answer to that, well then, it was very simple: they both had loved her and weren't likely to be friends again any time soon. Casey held up her hand and said that she was with neither one now, so what was the problem? Beaver just shook his head and said he was going to bed. Casey left for her house.
The next morning, Beaver sat down to watch the movie that the book was based on, promising himself that he would do it up right this time, that he could not possibly let his mother down by using a stolen paper. He would be the best kindergarten teacher possible when the time came. That brought a smile to his face.
