The scene opens with more than one Dr. Shepherd roaming the halls of Seattle Grace at the moment. That's because Amelia left sunny California seeking help from her big brother, regarding a case, she feels he can handle best, hence her arrival at Seattle Grace. Meanwhile, Derek won't even consider operating on his sister's friend, Erica, as he is highly apprehensive due to the risk involved, so Amelia calls him a jackass; as she thinks he is being stupid in showing reluctance. Lexie can't help but crack at this; as she too believes the operation should be carried out. Lexie tries convincing Derek to let Amelia practice a procedure she needs to complete in 90 seconds if there's any chance of saving Erica; Derek reluctantly agrees to this proposition from Lexie, but still looks skeptical about the whole thing. ..
