Recap

The episode begins and "Dying changes everything," says Meredith's voiceover as an unfamiliar face is seen walking through the hospital's halls. This new young doctor has a conversation with another newbie, much the way Meredith and Cristina have for years. But these two doctors stop short when they see Bailey and Meredith. They're scared of one of them; it's Meredith. Meredith barks out orders to the newbie, and Bailey is impressed. Bailey asks about Cristina and Meredith says Cristina "loves" Minnesota. With freezing cold outside her hospital, Cristina is shown talking to her new boss. Derek is sitting alone and Webber tells him "we're all set for tonight". ..

Episode Quotes
Meredith: (opening voiceover) Dying changes everything. There's the emotional fallout, sure, but there's also the practical stuff. Who's going to do your job? Who's going to take care of your family? The only good thing for you is you don't have to worry about it. People you never knew will be living in your house, working your job. The world just keeps on going. Without you.

Alex Karev: Okay, I'm gonna tell you this because I'm literally about to walk out of this hospital forever.
Alex Karev: Your nickname's "BCB".
Miranda Bailey: BCB...
Alex Karev: Booty Call Bailey

Bailey: What's the problem?
Intern: I have these labs... for Dr. Grey.
Bailey: Well, then give them to her.
Meredith: I've been waiting for those for over an hour.
Intern: I had to do an additional-
Meredith: (interrupts) Stop making excuses.
Intern: Sorry.
Meredith: Stop apologizing.
Intern: Okay.
Meredith: Stop talking.

Meredith: It is a big deal!
Derek: I will be done long before 5.
Meredith: But that's not the point! Why are you putting this pressure on yourself?
Derek: I've been practising for weeks, I feel good! I just can't sit around looking at the clock!
Meredith: You really need to do this today?
Derek: Yeah, I do. Especially today.

Callie: Get Up! Get the hell out of bed and snap out of this because Sofia lost a parent and I lost my best friend.
Arizona: Snap out of this?! How the hell am I supposed to snap out of this when you cut off my leg?

Jackson (to Mark): I really think I know what I'm doing. Plastic Posse is going to live on, I can take it from here.

Meredith: (closing voiceover) They say death is hardest on the living. It's tough to actually say goodbye. Sometimes it's impossible. You never really stop feeling the loss. It's what makes things so bitter-sweet. We leave little bits of ourselves behind, little reminders, a lifetime of memories, photos, trinkets, things to remember us by... even when we're gone.

Episode Goofs
