The episode begins and the plane crash survivors are in a meeting with the lawyers from the aeronautics company, which is offering a settlement for damages. Derek, Meredith, Callie and Hunt pass the offer around. Cristina says, "Wow, that's a lot of money," when Hunt tells her about it over the phone. They need an answer in three days. In order to settle, all the survivors have to agree. Derek and Meredith wonder whether they should settle. The next day Meredith asks Alex not to stay at her old house anymore. April is back. In Minnesota, Cristina is back from her mandated break and reports back to her boss. He assigns her to work with Dr. Thomas again, saying he'll believe she's a team player when he sees it. ..Read the full recap
Meredith: (opening voiceover) Surgeons don't compromise. We defy death. We exceed perfection. We operate for seventeen hours straight if we have to. We aren't built to settle. But that doesn't mean we won't.
Meredith: Hey, Alex? Why did an intern just give me a compliment on the crown mouldings in my empty house? Are you still sleeping there?
Alex: Chicks like it better than the on-call room.
Meredith: Okay, that's disgusting.
April: I was giving the pigs their breakfast, and I turned around, and there is Dr. Hunt, offering me my job back. He didn't tell you guys?
Meredith: Did anyone else see Dr. Hunt in the barnyard?
Alex: What if he appeared to you? Was he glowing and all?
Jackson: (walks in, notices April) April?
Meredith: Hunt hired her back.
Alex: We think. Might have been Jesus.
Callie: Stop sleeping with your co-workers. It ruins them.
Alex: I slept with you.
Callie: And I no longer sleep with men!
Meredith: So, Alex is a diseased man-whore, again, and April Kepner is no longer a virgin. Wow. I missed a lot with that plane crash.
Jackson: Yeah, you missed a lot. Chief banged my mom.
Meredith: What? The... Owen banged-
Jackson: -Webber! Webber, Dr. Webber banged my mom.
Meredith: Oh. Oh Oh my God
Jackson: Yeah, I know.
Meredith: Well, if it makes you feel any better, he banged my mom too
Jackson: That makes me feel worse.
Callie: (after Alex is rude to an intern) What's your problem?
Alex: My problem is I have fourteen patients on my service, the new peds attending is an idiot and I need help. So until your wife comes back to the hospital, I need my interns to actually work.
Jackson: The Chief banged my mom.
Meredith: What? The... Owen?
Jackson: I mean Webber, Dr. Webber banged my mom.
Meredith: Oh... oh... Oh my god!
Jackson: Yeah, I know...
Meredith: Well, if it makes you feel any better: he banged my mom too.
Callie: I'm coming to get you, you're going to this meeting, it starts in twenty minutes! (looking for her) Arizona... Where are you? (she founds her lying on the bathroom floor) Are you okay? Where is the nurse?
Arizona: I didn't like her, so I fired her.
Callie: Oh, great, great. It's just... Why are you...?
Arizona: I thought, that I could get to the toilet on time by myself. Apparently I was wrong.
Callie: Did you fall, are you ok?
Arizona: Do I look ok? I'm sitting in a pool of my own urine!
Callie: I'm putting you in the shower.
Arizona: No, just get out!
Callie: Hey! Do not talk to me that way!
Arizona: Please, please, get out!
Arizona: Did you hear me? You did this! I can't even pee by myself!
Callie: Yeah and that's a problem because you now stink! This bathroom stinks! I'm not sharing my home with somebody who smells like this!
Arizona: (screaming) Get of off me!
Callie: (puts Arizona in the shower while crying) I have nowhere else to go. This is my life now too!
(Arizona looks at her and realizes that she's trying to help her and that she is suffering too.)
Meredith: (closing voiceover) When we follow our hearts, we choose to not settle. It's funny, isn't it? A weight lifts. The sun shines a little brighter. And, for a brief moment at least, we find a little peace.
