Episode Quotes
Meredith: (opening voiceover) There comes a point in your life, when you’re officially an adult. Suddenly, you’re old enough to vote, drink and engage in other adult activities. Suddenly, people expect you to be responsible, serious, a grown-up. We get taller, we get older. But do we ever really grow up?

Derek: Apparently, I'm not good at meeting needs.
Meredith: And I'm awkward and freaky.

Alex: I don't do secrets. I don't do any of that 15 year old girl, ooh, I'm gonna tell you but don't tell anybody else.
Lexie: We're not just talking about who made out with who at the Halloween dance, okay? This is a private family issue.
Alex: You're dad is a drunk. I had to start cleaning up my dad when I was seven, okay? That's why I turned into the grown up of the family, okay, so you got to wait until you were twenty-four. Good for you.

Sydney: So why the brain? Why biology's crown jewel?
Derek: You mean why did I go into neuro surgery?
Sydney: Come on, share. Share with Sydney.
Derek: It was the head-set with the magnifying glasses that tipped the scale for me.

Hahn: Is it me or there are teeny boppers staring at you?
Sloan: I get that a lot. It started when I was their age, never really went away.
Chief: Is that so?
Sloan: What can I do for you ladies?
Girl #1: Tell him!
Girl #2: No! It's...it's embarrassing.
Sloan: You can tell me.
Girl #1: You look exactly like her dad.
Chief: Swing and miss.

Derek: Hey Rose! Rose!
Rose: You know my name!
Derek: I had to ask around but now I know.
Rose: Oh, good for you. Good night.
Derek: Hang on. I should have recognized you from the O.R. today. We worked together for three hours.
Rose: I've worked on 36 of your surgeries and today was the first time you made eye contact. Like I said, this hospital is no better than high school. Good night, Dr. Shepherd.

Meredith: (closing voiceover) In some ways we grow up; we have families… we get married, divorced… but for the most part we still have the same problems that we did when we were fifteen. No matter how much we grow taller, grow older, we are still forever stumbling… forever wondering, forever… young.

Episode Goofs
Factual Error:

Both of Danny's eyes should have been covered to keep the eye with the pencil around it from moving. Every motion on his "good" eye would be mirrored on the injured one, causing irreparable damage.

Factual Error:

The list of names that Dr. Bailey cover's with her paper on the bulletin board is actually a list of crew members names.
