Episode Quotes
Meredith: (opening voiceover) The problem with being a resident all the time is, you feeling crazy all the time. You haven't slept in years, you spend everyday around people with massive crisis, you lose your ability to judge what's normal in yourself or anyone else. And yet people are constantly asking you how you're doing? How the hell are you supposed to know? You don't even know how you're doing.

Dr. Wyatt: We had our first honest conversation about your feelings, and now you want to leave. That timing doesn’t strike you as strange?
Meredith: No, and I’m still firing you.
Dr. Wyatt: No, you’re quitting
Meredith: No, I’m not quitting. I don’t quit things
Dr. Wyatt: No, actually you do. Your mother quit your father. Your father quit you. You quit your boyfriend and if I read your hospital chart correctly you quit your life momentarily on a couple of occasions. You quit. It’s what you know how to do.
Meredith: Now you’re really fired.

Meredith: Cristina, are you in the dark place?
Cristina: Yeah.
Meredith: Me too.

George: He punched someone named Harrison.
Bailey: You punched a child?
George: Apparently there was a graham cracker involved.
Bailey: Over a graham cracker?
George: They said they want you to talk to him.
Bailey: What, he's 14 months old? What do they think I'm going to do, give him a lecture on non-violent conflict resolution?
George: I really don't know.
Bailey: My son punches other children!

Lexie: I forgive you.
Meredith: Lexie.
Lexie: No. I forgive you. I forgive you for treating me like crap, and I forgive you for letting your friend treat me like crap.
Meredith: Lexie.
Lexie: I don't know how you get up in the morning, I honestly don't. Our dad abandoned you. And your mom by all accounts was the meanest person ever and you can't let Derek love you and it all really, really sucks. But ever since I knew you existed I had this fantasy about my big sister and you have failed, on every occasion to live up to that fantasy. But I still love you, whether you are capable of letting me or not. So, I forgive you.
Dr. Wyatt: Two o'clock work for you?
Meredith: Yeah, okay.

Chief: We need to write Adele again. She replied to my email but all she sent was a typo. She's no better at this than I am.
George: That's not a typo sir, that's a wink.
Chief: Well that's a semi-colon and a closed parenthesis.
George: Turn it sideways.
Chief: Well, what the hell does this mean?
George: She's flirting, sir.
Chief: Oh, oh, that's good!

Meredith: (closing voiceover) Don't wonder why people go crazy. Wonder why they don't. In face of what we can lose in a day, in an instant, wonder what the hell it is that make us hold it together.
