This is the first appearance of Kate Burton (Ellis Grey) since "Shake Your Groove Thing".

Meredith: (voiceover) No matter how hard you fight it, you fall. And it's scary as hell. Except, there's an upside to freefalling - it's the chance you give your friends to catch you.

George: (as "Thatcher") I hate the way you talk to me. And I really hate the way you talk to Meredith. She deserves better from you.
Ellis: I ... I'm sorry.
George: You are?

Dr. Webber: (to Derek) You clear me an hour or I'll hurt you.

Cristina: Slutty mistress.
Meredith: Pregnant whore.

Meredith: Surgeons are control freaks.

Meredith: (jogging with Cristina) This is supposed to make us feel better.
Cristina: Do you feel better?

Cristina: What is [Izzie] doing?
George: She's hanging out with Alex.
Cristina: (pause) Why?

Meredith: (to Derek) And you? Hating you is the most exhausting thing. (kisses him) And I don't want to do it anymore.

Meredith: (to Derek) Stop talking to me like you're my boyfriend. Stop talking to me at all!
Alex: (to Derek) Dude, that was rough.

George: I look like Meredith's dad?
Webber: Just take good care of her.
George: But...dad? I need help.

Derek: You slept with my best friend on my favorite sheets.
Addison: The flannel sheets?

Cristina: Can I have the hateful married couple instead?

Izzie: Why do you do that?
Alex: Do what?
Izzie: Act like an ass whenever any one but me is around. They hate you enough as it is.

George: Why do we hump on every dead or dying patient that comes through those doors?
Olivia: Experience?
George: So we can tell their family that we did everything we could.

Meredith: It's not okay. You have a wife who's not easy to hate, who's annoyingly kind and painfully smart, and currently saving my friend's life.

Addison: Fine Derek, walk away - it's what you do best.

Derek: Are you trying to be funny?
Addison: Satan has a sense of humor.

Addison: I don't know what the third option is. I just know I still love you.

Cristina: Meredith, leave the sarcasm up to me, really, it doesn't suit you.

Izzie: How can someone be so offensive and yet so charming all at the same time?
Alex: It's an art form.

George: Cristina's pregnant?
Izzie: Shut up George.
George: This is a very bad day.

When Dr. Bailey is in the operating room, you can see she's holding Cristina's head. She then leaves the room to talk to Meredith, and while they talk, she glances back at Cristina. When the camera zooms in on Cristina's face, Dr. Bailey's hands are still visible.

At the beginning of the episode, Richard is talking to Derek on the elevator. While they are on the elevator, the bandages from his surgery are visible under his hat. However, when they are outside of the elevator and Richard no longer has his hat on, there are no bandages.

Richard is referring to The Oprah Winfrey Show which is a popular daytime talk show aimed at women.

George: Make the lambs stop screaming!

This is a reference to the movie The Silence of the Lambs where the main character, Clarice Starling, has nightmares about lambs.
