After all the press the school received because of Mike's protest, the school decides to fire Coach Lubbock immediately rather than at the end of the semester. Coach Lubbock, who is angry at Mike for making matters worse, along with his family, is invited for dinner at the Seavers home to get everything straightened out. Coach Lubbock eventually decides to accept the only job offer he received- as a teacher in a California high school, where he and his large family are set to move to.
