The prosecutor interrogates Harley and tries to prove that her personal feelings for Danny and Michelle prevent her from being unbiased. Harley is furious that Gus set her up to be humiliated on the stand. Gus takes the stand next and testifies about the evidence that connects Danny to Carmen’s murder, including the slug that he planted. Harley approaches him and vows that she is going to find out why he is so anxious to put Danny behind bars. Rick and Frank are discussing baby names when Buzz surprises them by admitting that he wishes Harley married Rick instead of Phillip. Rick shares with them his excitement at getting to be Harley’s Lamaze coach. Later, Frank confides in Harley just how much Rick is looking forward to this baby. In San Cristobel, Cassie is shocked and overjoyed to discover that Richard is alive and has a plan to get them both back to Springfield. Richard warns her how careful they have to be. He tells her that they cannot leave together, but Cassie refuses to leave the island without him. After some convincing, Cassie agrees to do whatever is necessary to help Richard and get him to safety. Edmund enters and leads Cassie away. Richard’s plan is working smoothly until Edmund wants to ride in the car with Cassie to keep up appearances that they are mourning together for the island. Cassie feigns a fainting spell to create a diversion. Edmund gives in and allows Cassie to be taken to the palace. Richard, in disguise, drives Cassie to the airport. They share a tearful goodbye and Richard heads back to take care of Edmund. Meanwhile, Phillip and Noah start to search for Beth, Lizzie and James. They hear that Beth never showed up for Richard’s funeral and grow increasingly concerned. Beth becomes restless as she hears the funeral bells tolling for Richard. Desperate to escape, Beth starts to work on loosening the bars on the windows.
