Guiding Light: Friday April 30, 1999

Susan offers to sneak Max into the diner and cook him dinner. Susan finds the key and they sneak in together. Max secretly searches the cash register while Susan looks for candles. Max offers Susan a cigarette, which she refuses because her mom died of cancer. Max lights up, and his match starts a fire. The fire goes out of control and Susan and Max realize they're locked in! Jesse, Drew, Buzz and Selena gather for dinner, and Jesse warns Selena not to tell Drew the truth after all. He tells Selena that Drew has gotten too attached to Max. Drew gives Selena a pin split in half, for Selena to share with her daughter. Buzz then urges that Selena tell Drew that she is her mother. Michelle talks to Rick about focusing on college, revealing that Danny has left town. Rick is glad that she's no longer involved with the Santos family. Alone, Michelle fantasizes that Danny returns and asks her to marry him. Later, she gets a call from Carmen saying that Danny wants to see her. Danny calls Carmen from his car phone to remind her that if Michelle is hurt, he's prepared to use Carmen's bookkeeping ledgers to bring down the family. Carmen hangs up and turns to Dietz, telling him to kill Michelle. But the phone was left off the hook by mistake, and Danny hears the order for Michelle's death! He swings his car around at once. When Michelle arrives at Carmen's house, Carmen announces that today is Judgment Day for Michelle. As this occurs, Danny's speeding car crashes!
