Guiding Light: Monday May 17, 1999

Reva and Josh argue again about her obsession with San Cristobel. He wonders if she wants to postpone the marriage, which Reva denies -- but she reminds him that her instincts have been right before. Reva promises to stay focused on the wedding. Blake visits Holly and tells her mother about breaking up with Ben. Ross overhears and is proud of Blake's decision. He offers to work full-time on Holly's case. Blake and Ross talk about plans to get Holly released. Rick and Abigail visit Dr. Sloane to discuss the Cochlear implant surgery, and learn there's a six-month waiting period. Abigail, still conflicted, agrees to be tested to see if she's a viable candidate. Priscilla, an advocate for the deaf, gives Abigail her card, explaining the down side of the procedure. Bill successfully pushes Pilar away from the spray of bullets as Carmen's thug shoots up the house. Carmen, Ben, Danny and Michelle arrive, and Carmen is horrified to see that her plan nearly got her daughter killed. Michelle is suspicious at Carmen's obvious guilty response, but Ben explains it's normal maternal instinct. Danny pledges to find out who's responsible for the "attempt on Carmen's life," but also assures Michelle he won't break his promise to leave the family when possible. Michelle tells him she'll stick by him. Carmen privately thanks Ben for helping her, and kisses him.
