Guiding Light: Tuesday June 29, 1999

Buzz puts away Jenna's portrait and is surprised when Selena arrives for her last paycheck. She thanks him for the bouquet he left on her doorstep but Buzz denies that he left them. When he asks her to return to work, she agrees - if he agrees not to fire her out of jealousy again! She again thanks him for the flowers, and they share a meaningful look. Reva expresses her fears about going to San Cristobel with Josh. Josh tries to tease her out of her worries, but she remains filled with dread. They promise each other that no matter what they learn in San Cristobel, nothing will change the love they feel for each other. Carmen talks to Ben about the incident with Michelle. Ben warns her that Danny will blame Carmen if Michelle's not let out of the hospital because of their argument. Carmen accuses Ben of not knowing what it's like to have a child, and later says he's still not over Blake. Their argument leads to passion when Ben sweeps Carmen into a kiss. Vicky and David have a date at Company. David sees Pilar and is agitated by the Santos invasion of Springfield. He vows to get them punished for their crimes. Vicky wonders if his grudge is personal, which David denies. But privately he swears he won't forget what the Santos family did to his father. Bill tells Pilar that he has gotten a job with Sancorp, and is stunned when she tells him that it's a Santos company. Bill considers turning down the job offer, but Pilar assures him the business is legit. David greets them and apologizes for his overzealous reaction after the bomb scare. Vicky privately notes that he's drawing his enemy closer. Abigail shares her worries with Danny, afraid that she's ruined her marriage by trying to show Rick what it's like to lose a loved one. Danny agrees to take Abigail to Rick. They arrive at the hospital and Rick is overjoyed, but furious with Danny. Abigail reluctantly admits that the "kidnapping" was her idea. Dr. Bradford fails to calm Michelle, and orders a nurse to give Michelle a sedative. After a talk with Phillip, Rick apologizes to Michelle, thinking she's asleep. When he learns she's been drugged, he goes ballistic and demands her release. Dr. Bradford refuses, saying that Michelle has to stay another two weeks. When an emergency sends the doctors and orderlies away from Michelle's room, Danny sneaks in and carries his sleeping wife out of the hospital.
