Guiding Light: Monday September 18, 2000

Edmund tells Susan about his run-in with Phillip and his black eye. When Susan asks why he didn't fight back, Edmund replies that he prefers cunning to brute force and suggests that Susan read Machiavelli's The Prince. Susan runs off, interested in learning more. Beth is grateful that Edmund managed to charm Susan out of her funk. Jim is displeased when he arrives and finds Edmund in his home. Selena tells Blake about her affair with a married mobster. Blake swears to conceal Selena's identity in her book. When Danny shows Tony plans for the new casino, Tony asks if he can become involved. Danny insists that Tony needs to show some maturity before Danny will give him any responsibility. Tony notices Marah and expresses his interest in her, but Danny doesn't think it's a good idea. Later, despite Danny's objection, Tony and Marah arrange a secret date. Harley, Phillip, Rick and Michelle speculate about Claire and Alan's date, while Claire and Alan bond over the difficult relationships they share with their children. Later, Claire and Rick rush to Michelle's side when she faints.
