Guiding Light: Thursday December 7, 2000

Edmund and Cassie continue to grow more nervous as time passes by and Richard has yet to return. Richard finally comes back and reports that Weymouth has died of a brain aneurysm. Edmund works hard to conceal his joy at Weymouth's passing and "consoles" Richard for not figuring out who is responsible for deceiving him. Later, Edmund privately celebrates his narrow escape. Tony is thrilled when Danny allows him to attend a meeting of the crime families. Danny warns Tony to keep quiet and pay attention. At the meeting with the other crime bosses, Danny introduces the idea of getting involved in white-collar crime. Danny explains his plan and tells the others that he expects their full cooperation. Susan returns home, much to her family's relief. She reports to Harley and Phillip how she met with NuGround and that they agreed to drop the charges against them. Phillip is thrilled, but Harley reminds Susan that she will still be punished. Susan tells them that she has learned a lot and agrees that some kind of punishment is in order. Susan visits Jim and Beth and explains how she has gotten out of the charges. Later, NuGround comes to dinner, delighting the kids.
