Guiding Light: Friday July 23, 2004

Cassie and Edmund travel to Venice for a grand evening out at a charity auction, unaware that Dinah has the same idea. Edmund arranges for Cassie to be pampered on the plane on the way over to Venice, and compliments how beautiful she looks when they arrive. At the crowded event, Cassie just misses seeing Dinah, but they both wind up bidding on the same item at the auction – a 16th century dagger. Dinah wins and Cassie loses, but Cassie, who had had her heart set on giving the dagger to Edmund as a gift, returns to the ball to see who won it. Cassie is stunned to learn that “Princess Cassie Winslow ” is the winner and at the same event. Buzz has put together a party at Company to celebrate Gus and Harley’s upcoming nuptials, but Frank, more convinced than ever that a Spaulding is behind his set up, is having trouble getting through the night without exploding. A tipsy Frank nearly causes a scene but Buzz stops him. Darci covers for Frank and slips by calling Alex “Mrs. Godfrey.” Harley realizes that Brad’s last words had fingered Alex as his accomplice. Tony confides in Ray about his Michelle dream, but his brother doesn’t provide the reassurance he seeks. Danny and Michelle shows up and she’s anxious to show Tony her tattoo, making things worse for Tony as she credits him as her inspiration for getting it in the first place. Tony fights his emerging feelings, but realizes it’s not going to be easy.
