Guiding Light: Monday August 30, 2004

Jeffrey claims that he has feelings for Cassie but insists he’d never act on them. Edmund’s not so sure and demands Jeffrey leave town to interrogate Cassie’s imposter in Washington. Believing Dinah has returned to Europe, Jeffrey agrees to go. Dinah calls to taunt Cassie, and Cassie decides that she wants to meet her imposter. She surprises Jeffrey by getting on his plane and going along for the ride to D.C. Jeffrey realizes he’s going to have to produce a fake imposter to keep his cover. Meanwhile, Dinah comes to Edmund and shows him a collection of photos she has of Cassie and the man Edmund believes is Richard. But she corrects him that the man in all the pictures with Cassie is Jeffrey. Having intercepted the call from Reva’s banker, Sandy pretends to be Josh and claims that he and Reva know that Jonathan, Reva’s true son, has sadly passed away. After, Sandy goes through the motions of his birthday celebration. Gus has slipped away from the hospital to stop the demolition of Company but Harley assumes that he deserted Buzz in his hour of need. Buzz has the surgery but Rick cautions he’s not out of the woods yet. Having heard about Buzz’s heart attack, Alex has pulled every string available to her to get to the hospital to see him. He can’t forgive her but he believes they have to work to help Harley and Gus reconcile. When Gus returns to the ER, he doesn’t reveal to Harley what he had been doing and they continue to drift further apart.
