Guiding Light: Friday September 3, 2004

Cassie’s minding RJ and Will inside the farm, unaware that on the other side of the property, the barn is going up in flames. Conflicted and highly emotional, Edmund rails at unconscious Jeffrey, certain that O'Neill was trying to steal Cassie from him. But Edmund can’t leave Jeffrey in the barn to die and turns to save him. Back at the house, RJ has disappeared. Cassie steps outside and smells the smoke. By the time she gets to the barn, Jeffrey and Edmund have gone but RJ is caught in the fast moving fire. She races to save him but is pinned by a fallen beam. She calls for help but it’s Dinah who arrives. At Company, Hawk learns he’ll have to stick around town a little longer due to the storm. He decides to use the time to get to know his newest grandson – who he’s a bit suspicious of – a little better. Sandy scrambles and surprises Hawk with train reservations to get Hawk back to Oklahoma in time for the meeting he’s anxious to keep. Hawk goes and Sandy ends up alone with Reva. Olivia and Bill meet up after his date is called off. They work together to get closer to their goal of bringing down the Spauldings. They accomplish their task and celebrate with a kiss. Tammy and Joey have reunited and plan to make love after the Spaulding banquet. Alan arrives to inform them it’s cancelled and declares Joey the winner of the competition. Lizzie realizes Joey intends to celebrate with Tammy, so she arranges to have an invitation to a congratulatory reception sent to Joey. Joey arrives to discover that Lizzie plans to have him all to herself.
