Guiding Light: Tuesday September 14, 2004

Buzz is hospitalized with an infection. In his delirious state, he believes it’s Gus with Harley instead of Bill. After coming across a want ad, Harley and Bill decide to get into Spaulding by having a mole hired as Phillip’s new executive assistant. Harley disguises herself as disgruntled Lewis employee Ruth, and stages a fight with Bill to get Phillip’s attention. It works, as Phillip is interested in hiring Ruth. Beth and Gus bond over a working breakfast. She presses him to be true to himself and his beliefs as he struggles with his family obligations. When Alan joins them, Gus has some questions about where Alan’s loyalty lies within the family. Later, Beth admits to Gus she thinks that Phillip isn’t well, and points out that Gus is the person who could do something about that. Fearing his true identity may soon be exposed, Sandy informs Reva that he is leaving Springfield. Reva demands answers and though Sandy reveals nothing, it’s clear that he is in trouble. Reva secretly makes a call to gather more info. Lizzie interrupts Tammy and Joey’s date and is so overly supportive of their reunion that Joey realizes she still has feelings for him. Joey makes it clear to Lizzie that he’s through with her and Spaulding Enterprises. But later, Tammy convinces Joey to work at Spaulding, even though it means he’ll be working with Lizzie. JB returns and gets a kick out of watching Lizzie scramble to fix things with Joey. Lizzie tries to buy his silence but JB tells her he doesn’t want money - he wants her to introduce him to Tammy.
