Guiding Light: Thursday September 23, 2004

Dinah is about to be arraigned and expresses her deep disappointment in Jeffrey for failing to get her off. He prepares himself for the fall out of her revealing his past, but Cassie shows up and gives her official statement about the night Hart died. She says that the gun went off by accident and Dinah’s not a murderer. Edmund and Jeffrey try to make Cassie understand the consequences of her statement but Cassie’s determined to put the past behind her. Jeffrey warns Dinah not to blow this chance she’s been given, but Dinah’s hate for Cassie is still evident. Later, Dinah hops into Ross’ car - but finds Cassie at the wheel. She locks the doors and drives off. Harley, disguised as Ruth Karloff, reports to work and quickly makes herself indispensable. She finds out that Phillip has used his contacts in international immigration to strand Olivia in Denmark indefinitely – and that he has the papers that will free her in a briefcase. Harley tries to pry open the briefcase and ends up breaking it – just as Phillip returns. She’s able to cover and Ruth remains the star employee. Joey is desperate to make Tammy understand that Lizzie drugged him but thanks to Lizzie, he’s summoned to Phillip’s office. He rats out Lizzie to her dad but to his surprise, Phillip takes Lizzie’s side and blackmails Joey into leaving town, saying he’ll foreclose on Joey’s mother’s mortgage if he breathes a word of what Lizzie’s done. Michelle and Tony find Blake snooping in the Lighthouse. She tries to talk her way out of it but finally admits that she’s following up on the rumors that the lighthouse is home to some kind of buried treasure. Michelle buys it but when Blake goes, she holds up the key her father sent her, promising to see her mission from him through to the end.
