Guiding Light: Thursday December 15, 2004

About to be arrested, Harley as Ruth convinces the undercover officer to let her use the bathroom. There, she transforms back into Harley and cries that Ruth attacked her and escaped out the bathroom window. Harley goes to the hospital and tells Buzz that the cops are on Ruth’s trail for Phillip’s murder. But even Harley’s hopeful attitude can’t cheer up Buzz as he prepares for the worst and shares his last will and testament with his daughter. Harley meets up with Gus and realizes that even more desperate measures are required to save her dad. Gus questions the guard who helped Alex get out of jail the night of the murder. Before he can get any information, Alex appears and warns Gus that his efforts to pin the murder on her will blow up in his face. Later, the guard reveals that though he took Alex out of the prison, they both saw a man running out of Company as they arrived. Gus pulls out a picture of Buzz and the guard identifies him as the man he saw fleeing Company. Alan urges Bill to drop Olivia like a bad habit and forget about adopting Emma, but Bill refuses. Billy’s greedy assistant won’t tell Billy what he did the night Phillip was murdered but demands to be paid for his silence just the same. Billy gives him his hush money but is plagued by guilt, especially when he pays a visit to Buzz. Later, Billy continues to wrestle with his conscience but he is able to put it aside when Bill comes to ask him for help. Meanwhile, Alan lures Olivia to Ravenwood.
