Guiding Light: Wednesday January 5, 2005

On the day of her wedding, Cassie wakes up to find herself in bed with Jonathan. The lingering effects of the drug compound her shock and dismay and Jonathan revels in her confused state. Cassie is convinced she slept with Jonathan and she is completely mortified. Meanwhile, Dinah is in the lobby waiting for the fallout. Anxious, she summons Edmund to the hotel and he goes up to Cassie’s room, unable to stay away. However, Jonathan slips away before Edmund sees him. He leaves a guilt ridden Cassie alone in the room to face her fiancé. Her heart is breaking as she convinces Edmund not to come in and he leaves for the wedding unaware of how upset she is. In the lobby, Jonathan and Dinah toast the inevitable heartache ahead for Cassie and Edmund. Meanwhile, Reva is confident that neither Jonathan nor Dinah will spoil Cassie and Edmund’s big day but Josh remains on the look out for trouble. Jeffrey shows up, armed with the knowledge that Edmund tried to kill him, and struggles with whether or not to tell Cassie what he knows. Later, Reva goes to pick up Cassie for the wedding, and finds her on the floor in tears. Cassie rambles about how she’s not good enough for Edmund, and a concerned Reva goes to get her sister a glass of wine. When she returns, Cassie’s gone. Danny and Michelle’s reunion is bittersweet, as they remain very much apart. Michelle urges him to save himself before Sebastian returns but it’s too late when Sebastian arrives, having recaptured Holly. Sebastian tells Danny that he’s a dead man until Tony calls from Africa. Tony reports that he was unable to locate Ed but he has found Ed’s notes for the cure and reads them over the phone as Michelle beings to mix the chemicals.
