Gus brings Harley to the Springfield Inn to prevent her from leaving the county in an effort to track down Beth. He warns her about jumping bail, which would make her look guilty in the eyes of any jury. But Harley’s convinced that she has to grill Beth so she can put to rest the question of her own guilt or innocence. She pulls out all the stops and finally escapes, racing off to the spa Beth checked into. Realizing Harley got away, Gus goes to the Spaulding house to find out where Beth might be. He runs into Alan who’s furious Gus skipped an important meeting at Spaulding. Alan thinks Gus has gone too far and is relieving Gus of his duties as Spaulding president. Meanwhile, Harley finds Beth at the spa and corners her, determined to get the confession she desperately needs to hear. Bill attacks Alan, furious over the tabloid show Alan produced and its effects on his business venture with Olivia. Before Bill can do real damage, Olivia arrives and breaks up the fight, sending Bill away and offering Alan a deal. She says she will talk Bill out of adopting Emma if Alan promises not to attack her business any longer. Intrigued, Alan promises to think it over. Later, Olivia and Bill celebrate pulling one over on Alan. Holly remains conflicted and guilty about the way Sebastian died even as Blake is becoming more and more determined to find out what really happened. Holly gets Ross to accompany her to an AA meeting, needing to get some things off her chest. When the meeting ends up being canceled, Ross provides her with her own private AA meeting. She confesses to him what really happened and he promises to keep her secret. Meanwhile, Blake confides in Bill her need for closure about Sebastian. Later, Holly is haunted by thoughts of Sebastian, who is seen in an unknown location, alive.
