Guiding Light: Tuesday January 25, 2005

Harley has tracked Beth down at the Spa and is pushing her for the truth about what happened the night Phillip died. Beth confesses to Harley that she didn’t kill Phillip but that she was prepared to run away with him and to kidnap Harley’s children if it meant not losing James and Lizzie. Hearing how far Phillip pushed Beth causes Harley to realize that she was also in a position to do something she never would have done under normal circumstances. For the first time, Harley feels she truly must be guilty. Meanwhile, after a nasty confrontation with Alan, Gus runs into Lizzie and begins questioning her on Beth’s whereabouts. Lizzie begs Gus to drop his investigation and let her father rest in peace but in the process, she tells Gus something that contradicts with what Beth told Harley. Gus and Harley don’t have the chance to compare notes, so the discrepancy in the stories goes unnoticed. Later, Gus and Harley do communicate on the phone and an angry Alan overhears as Gus warns Harley to return home before she’s caught skipping bail. At Reva’s house, Cassie comes to confront Jonathan about the flowers and card he sent, unaware that Dinah was the one who sent them. However, Jonathan is more than willing to let Cassie think he did it and he taunts her about whether or not she got pregnant the night they spent together. Cassie, furious with him and feeling helpless, is tempted to mix his prescription drugs with the beer he’s drinking. It’s then that Reva and Josh return from their romantic night together and when Reva sees the vial of prescription pills in Cassie’s hand, she goes ballistic. Things get uglier when Josh takes sides with Cassie and Reva, who sticks by Jonathan, feels alone.
