Harley wants to forget her troubles and lose herself in Gus’s arms. But, when Gus senses that her passion is really a way of saying goodbye, he struggles to convince her that this night can be a beginning rather than an ending. Harley almost lets herself believe it until she learns that the judge has ordered the trial to begin as soon as possible. Gus throws himself into her defense. Lizzie almost catches Coop with the bloody shard of glass. He manages to hide it from her and later, takes it to Buzz. They decide to send the piece of glass to a lab and match it to Phillip’s DNA but to do that, Coop must sneak back into Spaulding to get a sample. He is successful but after a near miss with Lizzie, he is more suspicious than ever. Cassie destroys the videotape that Jonathan gave her as Edmund watches. Jonathan denies sending Cassie flowers, and Cassie concludes that Dinah must be responsible. Later, Cassie covers with Edmund, claiming the tape was of her drunk at her bachelorette party. After, Edmund leaves for the store but is unable to keep his dark side from emerging. Meanwhile, Reva shows Josh the damage done to her new car and reveals that Jonathan caused it. The tension between husband and wife intensifies as Reva insists on handling her son in her own way. Later, Reva questions Jonathan, hoping he might confess, but he doesn’t. Meanwhile, Josh turns to Cassie, looking to gain an ally in his effort to make Reva see the light about Jonathan. He urges her to tell Edmund about her pre-wedding night with Jonathan. Cassie realizes that Josh doesn’t fear Edmund’s dark side re-emerging but rather he wants it to if it means putting Jonathan in his place.
