Harley and Gus spot Wallace once again outside the Brooklyn hotel and rush out to confront him. He admits he knows the identity of Phillip’s true killer but just as he is about to reveal all, a cab, driven by Sebastian, comes out of nowhere and runs Wallace down. At the hospital, Harley and Gus are devastated to learn that Wallace is in a coma and unable to speak. Meanwhile, a nurse at the hospital goes through Wallace’s private things and discovers a check for $100,000 signed by Alan Spaulding. After seeing Edmund raise a violent hand towards Dinah, Cassie goes to Jeffrey to tell him she’s left Edmund for good and wants to be with him. Jeffrey isn’t sure if she’s there on the rebound but he puts aside his hesitations, gives into his desire for her and the two make love. Afterwards, they admit that they have no regrets but Cassie makes it clear she still has every intention of making her and Edmund’s baby a part of her life. Meanwhile, Dinah tries to convince a heartbroken Edmund that losing Cassie is the best thing that ever happened to him. She makes a passionate case about why Edmund should be with her and proposes that they could raise the baby together. Furious at the suggestion, it appears Edmund might get violent with her when Jonathan steps in to defend her. Dinah is horrified and Edmund is close to taking his anger out on Jonathan but instead throws them both out. Edmund is left alone to face what he’s lost while Dinah rails at Jonathan for blowing her chances with Edmund.
