Guiding Light: Monday June 27, 2005

Gus and Harley are making love on the set of the soap opera, unaware that Alan has arrived and is lurking around the very same studio with a gun, searching for them. Later, Mallet, who has been released from jail by Alan, calls Harley to warn her that trouble is coming and to get out. But, Mallet’s warnings come too late. Harley and Gus hear noises and realize that the police must be closing in on them. They decide to split up but soon after, Harley hears a gunshot and rushes back to Gus. She finds him lying in a pool of blood, shot by none other than Mallet. Jeffrey reacts badly when Cassie accidentally refers to him as Richard. To prove herself to him, Cassie allows herself to be blindfolded and the two share a romantic moment. In front of Nate, an anguished, angry Jonathan menaces Reva with a knife before turning the knife on himself and cutting off his own hair. He leaves, disgusted at Reva and Nate’s relationship and goes to Dinah’s hotel room. There, he makes a huge discovery when he rips off Dinah’s towel and sees that she’s not pregnant! Dinah reveals that she lost the baby weeks ago and has been pretending ever since in an effort to win Edmund over. She convinces Jonathan to keep her secret but as the two begin to make love, they are unaware that Cassie is on her way to Dinah’s room. Meanwhile, Reva learns from Jeffrey that Jonathan’s real father, Alfred, is alive.
