How would everyone like to see Guiding Light end? Maybe they should just move the most popular characters to As The World Turns as they are made by the same production company. It's kind of weird that the world's longest running scripted programme has been canceled.

War is God's way of teaching Americans geography.

I've never really watched GL, but I was totally shocked to see it was ending.

The ending did seem pretty predictable. It is a shame the writers couldn't have come up with something better. Would of rather have seen Jeffrey return to Springfield to reunite with Reva then have her paired off with Josh yet again.

For me Guiding Light died on February 14, 1998. The day the great Cynthia Watros departed the series.

I have to agree. Annie Dutton Lewis was a great character and Cynthia Watros a great actress. The show lost it's way when Annie departed and never recovered. Wendy Moniz and Frank Grillo where great as well as Dinah Marler and Hart Jessop and they left around the same sort of time.

I continue to hope that someone finds a new venue, be it cable, computer, for this great show. It is a sin for it to die after 72 years. I never write in forums, but have written several times regarding this topic because it is so sad for the cast and the viewers to let this go. And there are so many unanswered questions that is could easily go on else where. So please make it happen.

Maybe they could transfer some of the most popular characters to As The World Turns by having them move to Oakdale. I know they did that before when Another World was cancelled.
