The scene opens with Max and his newly reconnected boyfriend Grant seeing each other off at a street corner, when the rest of the friends are looking at them from Max’s window. Dave is doing the sound thing with his mouth, which everyone finds weird. He complains everyone else does that, so why can’t he? They find it strange Max has been dating for so long – two week! Penny says Max is not the only in a serious relationship. Her partner Sean is a physician, and… Max comes in. Everyone turns their attention to him, and he is about to send Grant a text. He wants one of the friends to proofread it. Dave asks him to bunk the idea. Before it is long, Max is thinking he is fat when he sees his reflection on a toaster. He is upset and nervous if Grant really likes him. Penny butts in with her story about Sean, but everyone thinks she dates losers. Max is worried about his friends not liking Grant – they have to be nice to him, he pleads...
