Aliens & Aliases - Recap

The scene opens with Wade arriving at Zoe’s when she is livid at him. He tries chatting her up, but she just tugs his tee collar and shoves in the cornflakes, which he claims to like. Wade guesses Zoe is mad at him for breaking her and Justin up. Meanwhile, George and Lemon arrive at the district school Science Fair, in which a number of things happen. First, Zoe is trying to make sure everything goes alright about the wedding, and turns away the moment he spots Lavon in the vicinity. It turns out she would give up anything for George, when he expresses surprise about she giving up her signature brand in cakes. She is also uptight about the arrangements, when George is insisting she must relax. The to do list, which Lemon takes out of her bag nervously, goes right into the bin – thanks to George’s throwing skills.

Meanwhile, Lavon has been complaining about Didi not picking up his calls. Wade can hardly come up with anything constructive, when Lavon approaches Zoe. She has to find out about it – why is Didi angry with him – has he done anything? As the fair progresses, a teacher called Mr. Humberg is getting all excited, and calling people to gather to learn wonders of science. He is dressed in a centuries old style and a wig, and he is about to explain the science of gravity, when one of the parents ridicule him for his beliefs in alien life. While many bring up his claims he talks to aliens, he gets livid, and shouts that on the contrary, aliens talk to him. Later, Joel arrives in Wade’s bar, and reveals she has to run. Her ex-boyfriend Ed has lodged a complaint against her for putting his lawn on fire after they broke up. She wants Wade to help him, but he is not very game about it.

He suggests Joel gets to his place and uses it as a hideout. Later, at Goerge’s office, he is letting on how stressed Lemon is getting over the arrangements thing. Didi listens to him, but soon after that Zoe arrives to announce Tom is filling the reception desk. It must be the highlight of his life! That’s what he wrote when he mailed Zoe. Before long, Mr. and Mrs. Humberg arrive with complaint that he is going to be thrown off of his teacher’s position for his belief in aliens. George is undecided, but says they can talk in his office. Before long, Didi grabs the picture of Lemon and shows it to Zoe saying Lavon hid this from her under a desk. She has to find out what this is about. Lavon is at a public office meeting, when Zoe needs to have a talk with him. Although inappropriate, Lavon has to interrupt when she lets on it is about the fruit problem – about oranges and Lemons. Lavon is shocked when he sees the picture, but all he can do is fumble at first. No one knows about him and Lemon and he cannot explain now.

Zoe has to keep this a secret, and although she doesn’t want to lie to Didi. If it gets any worse, lots of people will have to face trouble – including Lavon himself. Meanwhile, Mr. Humberg is hoping George will help his case. Mrs. Humberg points out he surely cannot be stopped from teaching for his beliefs, can he? George replies, as long has he is not talking about alien life in public. George surely knows how much teaching means to Mr. Humberg. Can’t he do something to save his job? Later, George announces he will have to call off dinner with Lemon, as she sits sulking and feeling uneasy at home. Meanwhile, Zoe meets Didi at a café, and explains what it is about the photograph of Lemon. She did not meet Lavon, because she didn’t need to – the picture is actually hers. She wanted to look as graceful and gorgeous like Lemon to fit in. She was embarrassed about that, and so she never said the truth earlier.

Didi understands – such things have happened – especially to her sister and her gym teacher. Before long, George arrives, when Zoe departs rather abruptly. Lemon cannot stop being uptight, and decides to meticulously follow George’s tips about relaxing. She gets a massage, then does aerobics, but at the same time, she is making notes of what she is planning. Meanwhile, Tom is going gaga over Zoe at the medical office. Tom lets on George called, and he said Zoe wasn’t here. Zoe is more than happy, and instructs Tom to tell George she isn’t in whenever he calls. Before long, George arrives with Mr. and Mrs. Humberg. If they can prove Mr. Humberg has a medical problem, since he has paralysis of tongue, etc, they might be able to rule out the fact that aliens are possessing him, and therefore, get his job back.

Lemon arrives at Wade’s bar. She is not liking the fact that she is unable to relax without any worries. Besides, she wants, to, especially when Wade suggests she might have to stop being herself for a night. Before long, she is arriving down the steps in red boots, a short skirt and a skimpy top – a cowgirl fancy in short. Wade loves it – she is looking close to Joel – Hot! Later, Lavon arrives at Zoe’s office, when he wants to take a walk with her and talk. However, Zoe is not game, and lets on a sarcastic thank you for forcing her to lie to Didi and George. At Zoe’s office, she cannot find much anything to explain Mr. Humberg’s tongue paralysis, but soon after his wife leaves, Zoe realizes what must have happened to show strange symptoms in him. She notices that his tattoo is fading, and he is a heavy drinker of packaged juices. She suspects lead poisoning. Meanwhile, Wade takes Lemon to a zesty pub, where she is awkward at first.

She is wiping the bar desk and the seats. She doesn’t want to catch Hepatitis or anything of the sort. However, soon she gets to loosen herself up – under the disguised name of Roxy! After tests, Zoe confirms lead poisoning and explains the probable sources of it to a bewildered Tom. After she leaves the clinic, she is in a hurry. However, George runs up to her and tells her about how happy he is with Lemon. Zoe is already feeling guilty, and when she gets back in, she calls up George. However, he is unavailable, and she drops in a voice mail saying there is something she needs to tell him. When she gets back to cleansing the lead particles in Mr. Humberg’s bloodstream, he realizes it wasn’t about aliens. However, he wants that his wife doesn’t get to know about all that. They are happy believing there is something out there.

Meanwhile, Wade is unable to control Lemon, who is now a wild girl dancing to country songs. Wade calls up George to tell him about what’s been happening, and he is on his way. Meanwhile, Lavon arrives at Zoe’s, and insists they must have a conversation. He has to tell her what happened. He was in love he confesses. Lemon was having problems, and George was away. He would be with trying to be a friend. However, they spent a lot of time together, and they would be alone for hours at different kinds of places – beaches, the woods and all. They fell in love with each other. At least he did, but George came before he was expected to arrive. He proposed, and she chose him over Lavon. He was heartbroken. Zoe sees the problem. Lavon leaves, saying she can do whatever she thinks is right. When George calls back for knowing what she had to say, Zoe wittingly tells him it was about not letting Mrs. Humbergs know the real reason behind her husband’s tongue paralysis.

When Wade gets back home, he announces he is going to move out of town. Joel is livid, and blames him for ‘breaking up’, after which she starts throwing bottles at him. Outside are George and Lemon, romancing, when she wants to continue being Roxy. Meanwhile, Zoe gets to Lavon’s place. He is sorry for putting her in a tough position, but she understands things weren’t that easy for him either. However, she has decided to keep from telling anything, but may be the secret will surface some time. When she leaves, she finds Lemon and George having fun in a lagoon. Lemon wants to elope!
