Wade: Meatball's lyrics may seem very simple at first, but, like an onion they are very layered underneath.
Tansy: She's not my favourite person. Or my second, or my third...she's really right at the bottom of my list. But I feel bad for Zoe right now. You know, musicians are like the sexiest drug in the world.
George: Well, you know that your current boyfriend has some musical chops of his own?
Tansy: Oh, I know! I saw the photo of you in your high school production of South Pacific.
George: No, I happen to have played with Wade at Bluebell-A-Palooza. Undergarments were thrown in my direction.
Zoe: So, I have gone over it in my head, and our only option is to kidnap Meatball. Keep him somewhere isolated, yet comfortable, until Battle of the Bands is over.
George: Okay, I didn't like it but Tansy seemed to really love it so --
Zoe: Okay, Mind Face is never going to win a contest based on the audience's votes, 'cause Meatball's voice sounds like a werewolf stuck in a garbage disposal. And "Mind Face", what does that even mean? Does it mean, like, the melding of the mind and the face?
George: I thought it meant, like, "mind the face, you gotta watch the face." Mind Face! No, it's a confounding name.
Tom: Lavon, that was so romantic. I always knew I wanted to marry Wanda, but looking into her eyes and saying those words made me realize I want to marry her now.
Lavon: Good luck with that, I hope it works out for you.
Tom: What? No. You have to help me plan it.
Lavon: Tom, Wanda loves you. Just get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.
Tom: One knee won't cut it, Wanda makes me feel big, epic things. I know, I'm a Hallmark card, I can't help it.
Wade: What was that about?
Zoe: Okay, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you this before but I was trying to protect your feelings. You're not going to want to hear this, but I don't think Meatball is great. I think that he stinks. Sometimes literally, mostly vocally.
