Recap

At the Hotel Carlton, Paladin is in the lobby reading an article about the discovery of ancient ruins in Arizona in the Yavapai Valley. His most recent girlfriend is complaining that Paladin is taking a job to get away from her, but Paladin ignores her complaints and talks about the tribe that lived in the ruins and how the rich he was. He finally compliments the woman, suggesting that she should take his leaving as a compliment to her. Paladin then goes over to Hey Boy and has him send him his card to Bud Webster in the Yavapai valley...

Episode Quotes
Webster: I'll have the law on you for this, woman--I'm complaining to the sheriff at Tuscon.
Paladin: No, you're not. Not unless you want half this state digging with you.
Doris: See? You're as stupid as you are ugly!
Webster: Listen to who's talkin'. I've seen prettier features on a cobbler's bench.
Doris: All you know about is shoes!
Webster: At least they keep their tongues laced in place!

Doris: Hey--whose side you on, Paladin?
Paladin: My own.
Doris: At least you ain't a liar. I'll take a chance on you.
