At the Haven Hunting Club, T.R. Holt leaves for the night to go to the car. As he gets in, he notices that the back window is broken. Before he can do anything, an animal attacks and kills him.

The next day, Eleanor is writing "No parking" on Emily's windshield. When Emily arrives, she complains and Eleanor explains that she's teaching the summer people where not to park. She explains about an incident in 1987 and no one parks there ever since. When Emily complains about how everything is a secret in Haven, Eleanor notes that no one will talk to Emily about her mother. She advises Emily to blend in and she'll have it down in 10-15 years.

Emily is called to the hunt club where Nathan is checking the crime scene. He explains the club is exclusive but let his father join. Nathan makes it clear he's not big on hunting for sport. They check out Holt's corpse and Nathan figures it's a rabid wolf, but Emily doesn't believe that a rabid wolf would break into a parked car. The manager confirms that Holt was arguing with another man, Bradley Donnelly, the previous night. Both men are friends of Chief Wournos. He doesn't believe that either man is responsible and insists that they hunt the wolf, and that Nathan goes with them. Nathan objects and warns that if something comes out later, it will look like the chief is covering. He gives them a day to check things out while he organizes the hunt.

Nathan and Audrey talk to Tobias Gillespie, one of the club members, who says that Landon Taylor, a dry cleaner, hangs around at the club since his wife died in a fire. He almost got shot when Donnelly and Holt got into an argument over a woman. Gillespie suggests they talk to Landon and see if he knows more. Audrey talks to Landon, who is skeet-shooting outside. When she criticizes his shooting skills, he offers her the chance to try and she nails all the targets. Meanwhile, Nathan discovers that Donnelly is forming a hunting party of his own and tells them to stand down for now and wait until the chief organizes an official party the next day. The hunters reluctantly go home.

Landon insists that he wasn't the target between Holt and Donnelly, and reluctantly tells Audrey that Donnelly fired and hit a tree near him. She finds Nathan and they talk to Donnelly. He insists that he didn't shoot at Holt, and they were like brothers.

The Teagues are at the station looking for a story when Nathan and Audrey return. They ask the brothers about Donnelly and Holt, and they suspect that they were arguing about Jess Minion, an animal rights activist reputed to be a witch. However, they believe the argument was over Suzanna Donnelly, Brad's wife who was rumored to have an affair with Holt. They take the information to Chief Wournos, who informs them the lab results confirmed that it was a wolf that killed Holt. He insists that they go ahead with the hunt unless Nathan and Audrey have something definite.

Donnelly goes out to his garage to get a beer. An animal attacks and kills him.

The officers are called to the crime scene and Nathan notes that it was a full moon the previous night. They talk to Suzanna, who suggests it was Jess Minion. Suzanna says that the woman put a hex on them and points out the hieroglyph on the wall. Emily remembers seeing the mark at the hunt club and suggests that Jess is involved. Nathan reluctantly agrees it bears further investigation.

They go to see Jess, who lives at her grandmother's farm next to the hunt club. She readily admits that Holt hated her, and knows all about both of them. Jess confirms that she doesn't let the hunt club onto her land, and takes the occasional pot shot at them. When Audrey shows her the mark, she explains it's a symbol requesting forgiveness. She takes them in back and shows them a field laid out with stones. Each one marks an animal that died on the land. Jess suggests that there is magic everywhere, and that Nathan has been transformed as well. However, she insists that he is more, not less. When Audrey returns to the questioning, Jess say her car broke down and AAA can verify her alibi.

Back at the station, the Teague brothers inform the officers that the hunt club has put a bounty on the wolf. Audrey shuts them out and then goes over the case with Nathan. They both figure that someone can control animals, but Nathan notes she has an alibi. Audrey figures that Jess is giving them orders to follow later, and tells Nathan he can't let his emotions for Jess get in the way. When the chief comes in, Audrey tells him what they have but Wournos dismisses it as nothing. He tells them both to come to the club for the hunt.

As the officers wait at the club for the hunt to begin, Brandon's mother Piper comes in with her grandson, Zach. She admits that she's worried about Brandon after the near-miss the other day, and begs him to come home with them. Landon refuses and they begin the hunt. David and Wournos accompany Nathan and Audrey. They come to Jess' land, and the chief insists on going in anyway. They spot an animal up ahead and Chief Wournos starts to aim. Nathan deflects his shot, realizing that it's Jess' dog. Suddenly a bull moose charges out of the wood, smashes David down, and turns on the others. Nathan and Audrey use their shotguns and manage to bring it down. However, when they investigate the corpse, they discover that it's a stuffed animal filled with rags and sand. Wournos sends his son to get David's things, and then tells Audrey that he needs Nathan to step up when he's gone so that someone can handle the Troubles, and he hopes that some of Audrey will rub off on his son. Audrey suggests they go to see Jess, and figures she's one of the Troubled.

At the Minion farm, Audrey shows Jess what they found. Nathan suggests that she may be unconsciously using her abilities, but Jess informs them that she's not doing anything. She got the hieroglyph from Wikipedia. However, she insists that everything she said about Nathan is true.

Back at the hunt club, Nathan and Audrey examine the trophy room, filled with stuffed animals. They discover a stuffed wolf with blood on its mouth, and call in Eleanor to do an examination. She finds Holt's finger in the wolf's "stomach," and Audrey sends her away. She then tells Nathan she found a stuffed animal of a moose, and a plaque confirming that Chief Wournos killed it two years ago. Another plaque identifies the wolf as one that Holt killed. there is a tag marked CL6, and the timeline shows that the most recently killed animals are coming back first. They notice a missing, and realize that David Teagues killed it.

At his home, David is recuperating on the porch when Vince comes out. The bear comes after them and they run for it. Audrey and Nathan arrive and discover the brothers have taken refuge in their cellar. The bear is trying to get through the door, The officers' guns are too small to kill it. Thinking quickly, Audrey finds a can of gasoline and they set the stuffed animal on fire. Afterward, Audrey asks them to cover up the story in the newspaper, and they readily agree. Vince assures her they always think of something. She shows them the tag and David confirms it means Canis Lupis #6. He recognizes Landon's mark, and figures it's the sixth wolf that he stuffed.

Audrey and Nathan go to Landon's dry cleaner store. He's cleaning up a mess caused by another attack. Nathan tells him about the Troubles and they figure the animals will come after him. Landon says that they all have to be destroyed. Piper arrives and she tells them that they're making a mistake and her son doesn't have anything to do with it. She grabs a knife and tries to attack Nathan, and Landon stops her. She cuts his arm in the struggle and Emily stares at Landon's arm... where sand is pouring out. He runs off, while Piper insists that her son needs her. Emily realizes that Landon didn't stuff himself, and Piper admits she did it, and that she can feel the other animals waking up.

As they drive to the hunt club, Piper explains that she found Landon dead in the fire. His wife was burned too badly to restore, but Landon had suffocated she used her ability to bring him back. Everything was fine until he was almost shot, and the stress on Piper caused her power to run out of control, animating the animals and sending them to seek revenge.

At the hunt club, Landon grabs an axe and goes into the trophy room to destroy the stuffed animals. The officers grab him and drag him into the next room as shelter against the awakening animals, and Piper locks them in. She tells the animals that it's her fault and she killed them all, and they animate to kill her before the officers can break through the door.

Later at the station, Nathan tells Audrey that the hunters have killed three wolves and wonders if it's worth it, and she thinks it is. Audrey figures that the fire triggered Piper's ability, and it went into overdrive when he was almost shot. They go to tell Landon the truth and find him with his son. Audrey assures him that they're destroying all of the animals to be safe, and he wonders if they're going to destroy him as well. Landon wonders if he's even real, and Nathan cuts his hand and says they have a lot in common. He echoes Jess' words that they're more rather than less, and tells Landon that he's still a father and that Zach never noticed. Landon leaves with his son and Audrey asks if Nathan believes that he's magic. When Nathan admits he isn't sure, Audrey points out that he saved Landon's life.

Nathan drives out to Jess' farm and apologizes for doubting her. He figures that he is different or could be, and Jess admits she likes him the way he is. Nathan invites her to pancakes and she accepts breakfast.

Eleanor comes to see Audrey at the agent's request. Audrey admits she trusts her and notes that they both know what happened to Piper. Piper was stuffed, the same as her son. Audrey admits that she can't put that in the report, but figures that the whole cycle has been going on for generations. Eleanor realizes that Audrey didn't tell Landon the truth, and Audrey admits she did so that Landon wouldn't be tempted. She's not happy keeping secrets, but Eleanor says they all do what they can and the world goes on. Eleanor offers Audrey a local Danish, and promises to do what she can to find out about Lucy on behalf of Audrey... a local.
