Episode Notes
Max paid $1326.41 on the original Chicago V vinyl for Steve to give to Catherine on her resignation from the Navy. He mustive been ripped off because you can pay it for more or less than $10USD on EBay. If I were Steve I would've just paid the $78 bucks or less.

The hidden message that was in the code was:
"Beneath the kings heavy right foot. A leaf reveals. With a turn. The truth within."

Associate Producer Angela (Angie) Laprete's daughter Aya Laprete Powell played the girl with the backpack in the museum. Her brother Aidan James Powell was also featured in the episode 1.04 - 'Ko'olauloa' (North Shore of O'ahu) as the kid playing 'Hey Soul, Sister' on the ukulele. Their father William Chico Powell works for the accounting department on the show.

Episode Quotes
Steve: So, uh... how do you guys know each other?
Jerry: High School.
Danno: Oh... let me guess starting quarterback and starting centre?
Jerry: More like starting trumpet player, (Points to himself) starting french horn. An Old Valley band camp 1985. Doodley-doo (mimics playing trumpet).
Steve: Band camp?
Chin-Ho: Yeah.
Jerry: Remember I tell ya where those tents were.
Chin-Ho: Dude, how could I forget? It was like we were stuck on an deserted island all summer.
Jerry: *sighs* good times.
Danno: Pretty intense. Do you have any pictures?
Jerry: (getting excited) oh, you know it!
Chin-ho: No, no, no he was just joking about the pictures...
Danno: No, I actually like to see 'em...

Cultural References
The treasure in the King Kamehameha Statue is actually true! From @waikiki_johnnie on Instagram:

So the Hawaii Five O folks fact checked! The plot involves a treasure within the Kamehameha I statue. Of course the Honolulu statue isn't the original...the original was lost at sea, a replacement sent to Honolulu, then the original when found, went to North Kohala, the district of the king's birth. I no sooner said this & they had written into the script. So for the millions of viewers, E Komo Mai...you visited my adopted home of North Kohala, Big Island!! But don't look for a treasure in the statue if you go....there is one, but it can't be touched, it is the aloha Kamehameha had for his island nation & his mana that still flows forth to his people, even his subjects that are "hanai" to the land

Episode References
Quote used below was a reference to Lost. As you know Daniel Dae Kim (Chin-Ho Kelly) & Jorge Garcia (Jerry Ortega) were both in Lost.

Jerry: Remember I tell ya where those tents were.
Chin-Ho: Dude, how could I forget? It was like we were stuck on an deserted island all summer.
Jerry: *sighs* good times.

Another reference conspiracy theorist?:
Chin-Ho: Alright, a couple of ground rules. Don't mention that we're law enforcement... in fact we should hide our badges, okay.
Steve: What about my gun?
Chin-Ho: Uh... that should be fine as long as it stays holstered. Handshakes are also fine just let him initiate contact. Unless you guys have written any disitations I don't know about... Do not mention JFK, Area 51, and definitely no matter what do not mention the Apollo Moon landing.
Danno: Okay... can we feed him after midnight?

X-Files reference from Jerry:
Jerry: Holy Fox Smulder!

More conspiracy theories mention:
Jerry: JFX, Apollo 12, Area 51, The Denver International Airport. Our government wants to believe there's nothing going on. 'Move along John Q Public there's nothing to see here'. But there's much to witness. And I've ducked under the yellow tape. I've read beneath the redactive lines. The proof is out there.

Jerry & Danno Lord of the Rings Reference:
Jerry: If you guys hear anything. I'll stay here. Keep digging into the legend of the missing rings.
Danno: Good. Say hello to the Hobbits for me.

Star Wars reference Max's EBay handle:
Max: My EBay auction handler is in the real Jedi master for nothing.

Star Wars Reference #2:
Steve: Right. What do I owe you?
Max: $1326.41.
Steve: $1300? I thought you were Jedi?

Stevie Wonder mention:
Danno: Stevie Wonder what are you doing?

Roswell mention:
Steve: This is Jerry. He is our... special consultant.
Danno: Yeah. Roswell division.
