I thought this was a great show. It was hard to watch at first. I am very heavy. At 400lbs. I know exactly what these folks are going through. I was always in good shape until I had back surgery in 1986. I gained 100 lbs. Then when I quit smoking I gained another 100 lbs. I have been on many diets and the weight never seems to stay gone for ever. Not being able to do much physically it`s tough. The heavier you get the less you can do. The less you can do, the heavier you get. AHHHH! Anyway, I`d like to know how to qualify for this show. I like it because it`s a non-competition show. It looks like it`s very successful in helping those who need it. It`s a common myth that all "fat" people are lazy! Not true.If you don`t believe that, try going through your day with a 200 lb. back pack strapped on your back, ALL DAY, never removing it, not even at bedtime! You`ll see. I used to be one of those people that said, "how could anyone let that happen"? Well, due to certain circumstances it can and does. It`s a shame and the depression and guilt one feels is beyond all measure. Medicare should pay for stays at these facilities as the cost in the long run would be much cheaper.
