Master thief Mickey O'Neil, with a crew of fellow thieves he has gathered together, plan to rob a bank in order to build capital for an elaborate heist. Meanwhile, Amy Sykes, lead detective for LAPD's Robbery/ Homicide division, and her task force launch an investigation to find out who is behind this robbery and if this is only the beginning of a long term problem for the police.
Mickey puts his plan further into motion by bringing in a getaway driver, Vinny Momo, to test out an escape route. Meanwhile, Amy invites Mickey out after their dance class and James grows concerned that his partner's involvement with the detective isn't the best thing for Mickey or the heist. Tyrese and Billy find evidence that leads them to Ricky's door.
When Mickey learns that a local racetrack has ordered the same type of vault that Pops must crack in order to pull of the heist, he plots to steal the vault during its delivery, as well as intercept the cash scheduled to be transferred to it. Meanwhile, Billy and Tyrese meet with a local gang contact and gather more incriminating information against Ricky.
Billy and Tyrese corner Ricky and issue him an ultimatum: provide information on the recent robberies in town, or face more jail time. Later, Tyrese is less than thrilled when Billy asks his sister out after attending their family barbeque. Mickey and Amy fall deeper under eachother's spell.
Under Mickey's direction, Lola, Ricky, and James break into Sam Gordon's security office and hack into his computer in order to obtain security information on the three Rodeo Drive jewelry stores they plan to hit. Meanwhile, James wife grows suspicious that he's returned to an illegal lifestyle. Amy's past comes back to haunt her after the man she shot while undercover escapes during a jail transport.
Tom Tuchowuzcki joins the department as Amy's replacement. Meanwhile, Mickey is warned that Sam Gordon knows he is alive, and Ricky supplies Billy and Tyrese with key information regarding the next step in the gang of thieves' plans.
