Nobody Loves Me But My Mother - Recap

The scene opens with Memphis Christian practicing. Alice is at Memphis Christian and she is videotaping the rehearsal. A security guard catches her but she plays the innocent girl and tells that she is just admiring the cheerleaders. The security guard buys into it and lets her go without getting into trouble. The cheerleaders watch the video tape and Coach Lodge tells that the team has to practice hard if they are going to be able to able to make her video amazing. Marti asks if Savannah is going with them and she tells that she has a date. Lewis tells Marti was good today and Lewis asks Marti to Jazz Fest and Marti asks if Lewis is with Alice. He tells that there is no Alice. Marti still has her doubts and says that she is busy with school. Marti asks if they are still cool and he tells that they are. At the Pub, Wanda tells that she is now the new bar manager. She tells that she has an idea for an event that will get the most money. Open Mike Night! Marti asks if she has everything planned and she tells that it is all details. Marti volunteers to help her and tells that they need plans for a stage and equipment. Outside, Alice tells that Marti is only helping so that her mom will leave her alone. Marti tells that is only half true.

Dan and Savannah are on their second date. They start playing movie trivia and she tells that she is a horrible liar. They kiss. Savannah’s parents and Charlotte walk up to Dan and Savannah and Savannah tells that Dan is her boyfriend. Dan is shocked to hear this and says nothing. Savannah’s father invites Dan and Savannah to dinner with them. Dan and Savannah go back inside and Savannah tells Dan that she has not had dinner with her parents in a long time. Dan tells Savanna that he is not exclusive with just Savannah. She tells that it is alright for him to see other girls, but it is clear that she doesn’t. Lewis catches Alice and her pills and asks what she is doing. She tells that she doesn’t trust Darwin as a teammate. She tells that she needs it. She tells that Lewis needs to help her fly. Savannah tells that Dan doesn’t have to go if he doesn’t want to and says that the whole “casual” relationship would only create problems with her and her mother, but Dan tells that he would love to go to dinner with her and her parents. Savannah leaves and Marti walks up to Dan. She tells that if he breaks Savannah’s heart, she will “take a little off the bottom”.

At the bar, they are getting the cheerleaders involved to build the stage and Marti and Wanda talk about Marti’s sex life and she convinces her to go out with Lewis. Later, Alice and Lewis practice to teach her to fly and Alice makes a move and tries to kiss Lewis. He tells that he doesn’t want it because it is too much drama. She tells that there are “no strings attached” and they start to kiss. Later at the dinner, everyone is talking and having a fun time. Dan is being the gentleman he always is. Charlotte asks Dan what church he goes to and he tells that he hasn’t settled down on one church and Charlotte tells that he talks “pretty” and the family all like him. Meanwhile, Marti and Wanda are in the school and Wanda tells that she made the posters for the event and doesn’t want to try Marti’s way. Marti tells that she is tired of helping her mother out and Wanda tells that she doesn’t need the details and everything falls into place.

Savannah and her mother go in the kitchen and she apologizes that she pushed her and she tells that she doesn’t like Dan because he is “slick as an eel” and tells Savannah that he is just using her. Savannah tells that she is leaving and her mom tells that things are going to have to change so that they can be a family again. She tells that she is willing to compromise and tells that Savannah can stay at Lancer and on the cheerleading team, but she cannot date Dan. Her mother tells that if Savannah walks through the door, there is no coming back. Savannah tells that he love won’t change for them and walks out the door and takes Dan with her. Savannah is not happy with the “open” relationship she is going to have with Dan and it shows. She still says that it is alright. Marti is trying to get internet to help get the word out of the event. A cheerleader tells that she is Lewis’s flier and her mom’s “base”. Lewis talks to Alice and tells that he needs her to understand their relationship and that what happened was a one time thing. Alice gets upset when she tells Lewis that she loves him and he rejects her. She throws a bottle at the window next to Lewis. Coach Lodge tells that they need to talk. Lewis comes out of the office and Coach Lodge meets with Alice and tells that she knows what she was doing and says that she is ruining the team. Alice tells that she needs Lewis and Coach Lodge tells that she can dance but no flying.

The next night, Dan is on a date with Rosalie. He ditches her and goes looking for Savannah. When he finds her, she takes him to her room and Savannah talks a mile a minute. She finally tells that she doesn’t want an “open” relationship, but exclusive. Dan agrees and he tells that he has been thinking about things all day and he tells that he will do it. They officially become boyfriend and girlfriend. Meanwhile, Marti goes to the bar and there are a lot of people. She tells that her mom didn’t need her after all. Wanda tells that she went to a Frat party and then put her posters across the street, and then called the cops to break up the party. She tells that she couldn’t have done it without Marti. Alice talks to Jake and tells that she is looking for a rebound guy and tells that she flushed the drugs. Lewis sees Alice go off with Jake and Marti walks up to him. He tells that he is tired and doesn’t want to go out. He tells her about him and Alice and tells that he needs time to figure out what is going on. She tells that it is alright and that she is there for him. Marti goes on stage and sings to her cheer mates with a Sting song and the episode ends.
