The scene opens with the cheerleaders practicing. The volleyball team come in and starts to give them a hard time and one of the players throws a ball to Alice, who is at the top of the pyramid. She falls down and asks who threw it. Coach Lodge threatens to file a grievance and the volleyball player tells that it was an accident. The two argue and the volleyball player tells that cheerleaders are only the football players’ groupies. Alice tells that they can jump higher, run faster and do everything else better then them. They agree on a flag football match to which Alice asks for Savannah’s approval. At the bar, Marti tells Wanda that Savannah got them in a flag football match with the volleyball players and if they lose, they are going to have to cheer for the other team, but in their underwear. Savannah is horrified when Wanda tells them that cheerleaders are “special dancers” and not athletes.

On the first day of practice, Lewis is in the middle of coaching them and it is not that good. No one can throw the football except for Alice and she gets the quarterback position. Throughout practice though, they get better and Lewis gives them a lot of support. However, when Jake comes out on the field and starts mocking them, Lewis tells Alice to get him out of there. Alice finds out that Jake is the coach of the volleyball team with football and tells him to quit. He tells that he owes a girl that does his term papers for him and that he is not going to quit. Alice threatens to not give Jake sex if he doesn’t. Lewis gets home and finds that an envelope in the mailbox. His dad is there and Lewis opens the envelope. It is full of money. He tells that the money stopped and why is it starting. He visits Coach Raymond and demands he tell him where the money came from. He tells that Dirty Football is not what he wants. Coach Raymond tells that he doesn’t know and that he is just as shocked. They go to Bill’s office and Lewis says that he’s not coming back to the football team and he doesn’t want the money. Bill accuses Lewis’s father of being on the take for the football team and Lewis says that he is lying and tells that Coach Raymond and Bill are trash and walks out. Coach Raymond tells Bill that if he’s going to be the coach, then he needs to be told everything.
In class, Marti gets told by Julian that there is going to be a treat involved today and they are invited to go to Nashville. However, it is the same day as the flag football game. Morgan mocks Marti and wonders why she is so hesitant to go to Nashville. He tells that she should “fake sick” to be able to go to Nashville and give up on the team. Meanwhile, Louis confronts his father when he walks in the door and finds out the truth. His dad is on the take for the football team. His father admits that he is. The next day, Marti takes Morgan’s idea and tells Savannah that she is not feeling good. Savannah accepts the lie and goes to get her green tea.
Back with Lewis, his father explains why he’s doing it and that he’s only doing this to make sure they keep the house and are able to pay the mortgage. Louis calls him out on taking blackmail money to keep quiet about some dirty business going on.

Savannah catches Marti packing and Marti comes clean and tells that she is going to Nashville for law class and she tells that it is more important to her then cheerleading. Savannah tells that they are screwed. Savannah storms out of the room, but tells everyone that Marti is sick and she will be staying with her mom. Alice tells them that they are going to need talent if they are going to win and decides that she is going to cheat. She goes to Jake and so that she can use her “charm” and has sex with him. When he is asleep, she takes pictures of the opposing team’s plays. Meanwhile in the practice room, Coach Lodge is dancing and Coach Raymond watches. He tells that he is there to talk how the football team’s got a scandal going on. He says that they are involved in a pay-per-play scheme and that there are a lot of penalties if they were to get caught and tells that everything will end at Lancer including cheerleading. She tells Coach Raymond that he needs to surround himself with people he can trust and Coach Raymond tells that he has that with her. Coach Lodge reminds him that she is only a friend and nothing more.
Alice arrives and shows the playbook to the other team. Lewis tells that he won’t cheat and Savannah is a little tempted. She eventually tells her no because she wants to win on their own. The game starts and they’re failing horribly with zero points. Jake has a smug look on his face as he looks at the scoreboard. Marti shows up and tells Savannah that she chose her over her law trip and Marti turns the game around. The volleyball team gets upset that they are catching up and Savannah catches the winning touchdown pass and the cheerleaders win. After the game, Coach Raymond tells that Lewis’s father told Bill to stop sending the blackmail money and makes him feel better. Later, as Lewis job hunts for his father, Marti comes up and Lewis talks about his life and how his family ran out of money. She tells that she knows how he feels and sometimes she wants to lock the gates at Lancer and shut everyone out. She tells that she can’t do that and has to allow his father into his life. She kisses his cheek and this invokes them to kiss for the first time.

The next day, Jake and Alice walk together and he admits that he knew that she copied their plays and tells that he changed them last minute. Later that evening, Lewis goes home and visits his dad. He tells that he is going to get a job and will start to help out. His dad tells that he won’t take the money and Lewis tells that he wants to start helping out now that he can. He tells that he has an idea for a job. Lewis goes in to see Coach Raymond and tells that he could hire him to watch videos and evaluate them. He tells that he will work for cheap and he gets the job. At the bar, the volleyball team is forced to cheer for the Hellcats in their underwear. Coach Lodge comes in with some devastating news. Out of the 15 spots available, they placed 16th. They didn’t make the cut and now have no way to pay for Nationals. This could be the end of the Hellcats.
