The scene opens with Lewis and Marti running from something. They trip over a dead body and then are ambushed by Zombies. They get Marti and start to kill her. Dan tells them to stop and sets up the next scene where Marti’s intestines are going to be pulled out. The roll film and get the shot they want. Marti tells that she has to go and do something and Dan tells that she better shower first. Savannah comes up and asks how things are going. He says that everything is going good and they have to rush through it, but says that it is fun. Later, Marti goes into a guitar shop and asks a cashier if they still sale the guitar picks that he father had. She tells that they have the old logo. She searches the database and there is no Rex Perkins. Marti says that Rex is her father and the cashier leads her to the wall where they had musicians post something that they wanted to show others. Marti is impressed and introduces herself to the cashier, who says her name is Deidre. Marti sees that the date is wrong on the paper and tells that her mother has some explaining to do. She walks out with the paper that she got from the wall.

Meanwhile, Alice is at a bar and a girl walks by and Alice stops one of the girls, Betsy, in the group. She tells that she is failing a class and needs a term paper written for her. She tells that it will be $300 and she guarantees a B- on it. She demands that $100 of it be up front. She tells that she has never gotten caught. However, Kelsie Curtis is recording her and tells that they have her conversation on tape and she drops the money and runs out. Alice laughs and Kelsie tells that Alice has a knack for journalism and Alice tells that she used to write a web column. She tells that she will dig them up. Marti goes to Wanda and shows her the paper that she got and tells her to explain the date and how her father was playing a gig 5 years after. Wanda tries to tell that they wrote the date down wrong, but Marti won’t give up. Wanda tells her to go with her. She takes Marti to a homeless neighborhood and tells that her father was a drug addict. She tells that when Marti was 3 years old, her father took her to the alley and Wanda went to the place where a woman pointed her to the building. As she entered, she found Marti calling for her and she found Rex and told that it was the last time he would see them. Marti gets emotional and she tells that she is sorry that she had to tell her.
Dan meets with the other candidates of the Film Program and the organizer tells that they have to show their films. Dan meets Insigany, a fellow component and she tells that the film needs to have art and another film student asks what her film is about and she tells that it is an artsy piece and he tells that his is the same. They ask what Dan’s is and he tells that his is a Zombie movie and he tries to make it seem like his is artsy as well, but they are not getting it. Later, Dan is editing his film and watching the last year’s winner of the Film Program and it makes no sense whatsoever. He gets frustrated when Savannah comes in. She asks if he is done and asks if she can see it. Dan asks if she wants to get some coffee and he says that he is not going to show his film to anyone and tells that he is not submitting his film. She asks what happened and he says that the Film Puritans are not going to get him and they are going to just reject his application. He tells that he doesn’t have to go to film school and Savannah tells that he is making a huge mistake. When Dan leaves, Savannah copies the files of Dan’s movie on her zip drive.

Dan goes to Wanda’s to find Marti there. She thanks him for coming and Dan asks why she is at Wanda’s. Marti asks if Dan is done with his film and he says that it is. She says congrats and then gets emotional. He asks what is wrong and she tells that Wanda finally told her the truth of her father and the fact that he was a drug addict and that he never returned home. She cries and tells that he was supposed to be there for her because he was her father. She cries and Dan consoles her. Dan tells that it has nothing to do with her. Meanwhile, Alice meets with Lewis and he tells that she has to kill the story of Betsy and the cheating because she is going to hand over every athlete that has ever went to her. She tells that she is not and Lewis tells that he is a client of Betsy. She tells that she can’t believe it and asks why he had to cheat. She tells that she can’t kill the story. Alice calls Kelsie up and asks her to kill the story. Kelsie thinks that Alice is joking and laughs. Alice laughs too and tells her that she is only kidding.

Wanda comes into Marti’s room and gives her Rex’s guitar. She tells that Rex would have wanted Marti to have it if he knew that she loves music. Inside, Marti finds another song. Wanda tells that Rex wrote the song the day Marti was born. He says that Rex thought the world of her and Marti is happy. Savannah drags Dan to the Film School Applicant Meeting and tells that sometimes when a flier needs a push, you give it. Dan tries to leave and Savannah tells that all her life people have judged her and she didn’t want to listen. They go in and watch the movie where Dan’s take made the Hellcats the Zombie killers and everyone loves it, even Insigany and the other Film School Applicant. At the end of the film, the organizer asks how his film contributes to film as an art form and Savannah tells him to defend his film. Dan stands up and tells that he loved the old horror movies and tells that his film is about overcoming fear. They clap and congratulate Dan. The episode ends later that evening where Marti sings her father’s song that he wrote for her when she was born and Wanda lip sings along with her. Lewis looks at Alice and the episode ends at the end of the song.
